Hi I'm Jim. I co-founded SHIFT in 2003. This is a business that's all about the individuals that make it up. That's what I've loved most about it - connecting with SHIFTers, connecting with marketing leaders and company executives, and connecting with our community.
Although I "retired" in 2020, I'm still involved at SHIFT. Always will be. Two things I'm really proud of is turning SHIFT into an ESOP (employee-owned company) prior to our sale to AVENIR GLOBAL and also of the new Jim Joyal Award, which is given out annually to the SHIFTer whose behavior at and away from work best exemplifies SHIFT C/A/R/E/S - the values which guide how the SHIFT team operates each day.

Joel here. My business career started at the age of 15 when I founded a digital agency, INM United, out of my bedroom. It was 1998 and the web design business was in its infancy. Over 19 years, the firm's scope grew to focus on identifying ways that social trends, technology and business opportunities intersect and turning them into solutions for companies including BF Goodrich, Tom Brady, Air New Zealand, AOL and Walmart. In 2017, INM was acquired by Padilla and the rest is history.
