Incorporated in 1985, Integrated Management Systems was formed to continue the development and begin distribution of RESS (Room and Event Scheduling Software). At the time there was a real shortage of affordable computer software to replace the handwritten scheduling book, where the needed reports were a daily production at the typewriter and the gathering statistical information was a tedious labor intensive task. Out of this need RESS was developed by a group of college union professionals at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Since its introduction, several versions of RESS have been released.
