SABBATH

For the weekly Sabbath, a sermon and Bible study are provided entitled, The Twelve Disciples. In addition to the audio sermon is a transcript and a word search based on Matthew 10:1-8... My favorite verse is James 1:27, "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world." The Bible is a deep and complex book with so many twists and turns, that the simplicity of this verse serves as an anchor for me looking at the needs of the disenfranchised, the orphans and widows, while keeping oneself from being polluted by the ways of this world. The world in which we live is a world of good and evil, and has been that way since the Garden of Eden and as people we tend to identify good as the opposite of evil and evil as the opposite of good.
