Austin Jones has been around the legal profession all of his life. He has worked in various capacities for his father, Michael R. Jones, Sr., since he was 15 years old. In that time, he has gained invaluable knowledge about the Georgia court system, corrections system, and interacting with clients on a wide variety of matters. He is also an Eagle Scout, and uses the leadership skills he learned in everyday practice.
He attended the University of Georgia and graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature. He then enrolled at John Marshall Law School in Atlanta, and received his J.D. degree in 2003. He was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in December, 2003, and is a partner with his father in Jones Law Firm. Since that time, he has worked on numerous cases, ranging from wills and estates, to personal injury, to divorce and custody, to criminal defense, both misdemeanors and felonies. Austin has an excellent record of handling each client's case professionally, expeditiously, and with a passion that can only come from a lengthy association with the legal profession.
Austin is married to his wife, Elizabeth, and they have one son, Owen.
Austin is currently the Secretary/Treasurer for the Walton County Bar Association, a member of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, a graduate of the Bill Daniel Criminal Advocacy Program, and a member of the Gwinnett Bar Association. He also serves as a City Councilman for the City of Loganville, and is Chairman of the Parks and Greenspace Committee.
In addition to handling cases for which he is retained, he also serves as an indigent defense lawyer for the Probate Court of Walton County, handling DUI's, moving violations, and other traffic-related and misdemeanor offenses. He is fully licensed to practice in all municipal, county, state, appellate, and federal courts in the State of Georgia. Mike Jones is a Georgia native. He has lived in Loganville for 43 years. He and Ann have been married for 42 years, and have two sons, Michael Jr. and Austin, and one grandson, Owen. Mike and Austin practice law together in Loganville, where Mike has practiced for more than 30 years. He and Ann are active in Loganville First United Methodist Church.
