Dilli Raj Bhatta is the founding member of the firm. He is at the forefront of a constantly growing practice. Mr. Bhatta has extensive experience in all phases of commercial transactions, litigation, and intellectual property law. He advises clients on a broad spectrum of matters and provides unique strategic solutions in resolving complex legal issues. He continues to represent individuals and corporations in complex transactions and cases in New York and in United States Federal Courts. Aside from commercial litigations, Mr. Bhatta advises and represents business entities on international trade and transactions, commercial arbitrations, contractual disputes, Intellectual Property matters, and Mergers and Acquisitions.
Prior to this firm, Mr. Bhatta worked for The Myers Law Firm, a prestigious Northern California law firm based in San Francisco. He also worked as an intern at the San Francisco District Attorney's office where he gained in-depth trial experience working with the DAs.
Mr. Bhatta received his LLM degree focusing on Intellectual Property Law and Corporate Law from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. Mr. Bhatta was part of Cardozo's Study Abroad program, Introduction to Law in India in Hyderabad and New Delhi with an Intellectual Property Law focus. He is licensed to practice law in the State of New York. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the United States Federal Court of the Eastern District of New York, and the United States Federal Court of the Southern District of New York. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, New York City Bar Association, American Bar Association, and New York County Lawyers' Association.
Mr. Bhatta is a frequent guest of radio shows and he is a recurring keynote speaker at live business seminars, where he interacts with individuals and various business owners and board of directors.
Ilya Laksin brings in-depth knowledge and experience in various aspects of the practice. He practices federal court litigation, immigration law, criminal defense, contract disputes, post-conviction relief, civil practice, and family law serving a wide range of clients. Mr. Laksin has the exceptional ability to solve complicated legal issues and is well versed in legal writings.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Laksin worked for several municipal Public Defenders's Office and has worked with honorable judges in Superior Court of New Jersey and therefore brings in dynamic prosecutorial perspectives. Mr. Laksin is also passionate about human rights-based immigration and has volunteered with Catholic Charities and the Legal Aid Society of New York working on a wide-range of immigration matters. Throughout his career, Mr. Laksin has demonstrated a strong commitment to zealously representing his clients.
Mr. Laksin was a Dean's Merit Scholar at Seton Hall University School of Law where he earned his J.D. He previously graduated magna cum laude with a degree in philosophy from Rutgers University.

Mr. Upendra Raj Bhatta is an Experienced senior Paralegal and acts as a primary liaison between Attorneys and the team of Paralegals. Mr. Bhatta brings with him a decade long expertise in advocating on behalf of clients and maintaining a long-term-relationship with them.
Ms. Deepti Sharma completed her Bachelors of Arts in International Relations in 2009 from Lake Forest College, IL. She completed her J.D. from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA and is licensed to practice law in the State of New York (2016). Prior to joining law school, Ms. Sharma worked for a few years as a paralegal at a boutique law firm near Washington, DC and has also interned for various international organizations as well as the U.S. Senate. She assists with immigration law, litigation, and commercial transactions.
Shree Parajuli has many years of experience in working for different law firms in New York. He focuses on drafting, filing with courts, corresponding with the attorneys and court clerks, requesting documents, and preparing for the trials. Mr. Parajuli has extensive experience liaising with international partners and corporate and government clients in South Asia. He performs and directs negotiating strategy and advises and makes recommendation to the legal and management team.
Sujeet Karkala earned his Masters in Law from Duke University School of Law in 2011 and his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Mumbai, in India.
Mr. Karkala is originally from India and brings to The Bhatta Law & Associates tactical and strategic experience related to Cross Border Transaction and Common Law.
Mr. Karkala worked as an In-House Consultation in International Business and Immigration with the Law Firm of Shaw & Associates, P.C. His practice with the Firm includes International Taxation, Immigration Law, Corporate Law, International Business Law along with Cross Border Transaction .
Mr. Karkala is a Foreign Trained attorney who has right to practice in India and have worked with number of law firms in India. He is also a consultant in the area of Corporate Taxation and International Taxation.
Before joining the Firm Mr. Karkala has done his internship with the Law Office of Allen E. Kaye P.C., in the area of Business Immigration Law (Investor).
He is Member of the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa. He is also associated with number of associations in India: Bombay Bar Association, Income Tax Appellate Tribunal Association, and All India Federation of Tax Practitioners.
Mr. Karkala has published number of articles in various journals in India and abroad. He currently heads the Bhatta Law & Associates's Mumbai office in India.

Yanet Candelario is the Legal Director of Bhatta Law & Associates. She is a philanthropist and social entrepreneur who also serves as President of the board of The Mami Chelo Foundation, Inc. Yanet worked on a few cases that set precedents and changed the law at federal and state levels. Additionally, Yanet is the Founder of Legal Fiber.
She previously worked for Colony Hills Capital assisting high-net-worth individuals and institutions. Yanet is Cuban-Canadian and is fluent in four languages, and she is currently learning Romanian. She also completed the WIFT-T mid-career program in business management for media professionals at Humber College in Canada. She is an award-winning producer and writer. She received her training in Cuba, Canada, England, and the United States - most notably at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London, England. Yanet has completed the Immigration Law Program at St. Francis of Assisi for the Board of Immigration Appeals Accreditation. She also graduated from the entrepreneurship program at Harvard Business School. When she is not traveling, she spends her time between New York City and Los Angeles with her family and two dogs.
