I hold a Bachelor's degree in EU Studies with a minor in Conflict Studies from the University of Amsterdam, followed by a Master of Peace and Conflict with a specialization in Gender and Human Rights from University College Dublin. My academic journey has fueled my passion for understanding and addressing complex issues surrounding gender dynamics, transitional justice, migration, conflict and fragility, and peacebuilding.
Currently, I'm involved in projects within the MENA region at VNG International. This role allows me to apply my academic knowledge to real-world challenges, contributing to sustainable peace and social justice in the region. My commitment to making a positive impact and my diverse academic background enable me to approach projects with a comprehensive understanding and a dedication to meaningful change.

Master's degree in Comparative World Literature. In 2016, I started working on cultural and media projects in Libya, then moved to the local governance field in 2018 with CILG VNG I, the daughter organization of VNG I. 5 years of experience in Libya working on the support to the decentralization process with municipalities, ministries, CSOs with a specific focus on gender and service delivery at the local level.

Project Officer with a Bachelor in Media & Entertainment Management and with a background in Event Management. Within VNG International, I am together with Gaby Koster, responsible for the logistic support of (online) study visits and events.
Bachelor in Media & Entertainment Management. Background in organising various events, from business events, sports events to weddings. Within VNG International, I am together with Evelyn Scholte, responsible for the logistic support of (online) study visits and events.
I hold master's degrees in both International Relations and French Literature Studies from Leiden University, reflecting my broad interests in the international as well as languages. I see languages as a tool to connect people, and this is exactly what my role as project manager within the MENA region allows me to do.
With an academic background in Business Administration, Lorenzo is a project manager and business developer with 10+ years of experience working for several organisations in the profit and non-profit sector and in different countries. He has a sound understanding of topics such as rural and private sector development and local economic development. He is currently involved in VNG's projects in the MENA region.
Master's degree in Risk management in developing countries from Sciences Po Bordeaux, France and master's degree in International Relations from the University of Turin, Italy. I worked in Burkina Faso for 3 years in different NGO's, mostly focused on healthcare. At VNG International, I am currently working on projects in Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia; particularly on deconcentration / decentralization.
I hold a Master degree in International Criminal Justice from the Lille University (France) and achieved a semester at the Galway University (Ireland) where I studied Human Rights and Crimimal Law. I interned at the Witness section of the International Criminal Court before starting managing VNG International's projects in the West and Central Africa Region, particularly in Benin and Togo.

Sjoerd holds bachelor's degrees in Law and Philosophy from the University of Groningen and a master's degree in International Business Law with a focus on climate change from the VU Amsterdam. He has worked for the Dutch Embassy to Kenya and has held different positions within the Dutch Ministry of Defence before joining VNG International's Eastern and Southern Africa Team.
