Barbara joined T&E in 2020 to help build a sustainable urban transport campaign across Europe. This followed 12 years with Greenpeace where she led various international projects, including its cities-focused international transport and air quality work. Most recently she was the program director of Greenpeace Belgium.
Barbara has also been a visiting lecturer at the University of Westminster in London, teaching communications and campaigns, and she runs her own sustainability consultancy firm. She holds a masters' degree in public relations and mass communications and a BSc in economics with an international relations focus. She is also an internationally-accredited ACC coach with the International Coaching Federation.

Diane joined T&E's comms team in 2021. Originally from France, Diane previously worked in a communications consultancy in Berlin. Prior to that, Diane was based in Frankfurt working in external communications in the automotive sector. She studied Spanish and German at Cambridge, followed by a Masters in Media and International Development at the LSE in London.
As the aviation's deputy director, Diane oversees our work on contrails, taxation and zero-emission aircraft. She also leads our communications and media work on aviation. Outside of T&E, Diane is an avid runner, so you may catch her in one of Brussels' parks. She also plays the flute in a jazz band. Diane speaks German and Spanish too.

Julia joined T&E in June 2015 and now leads the organisation's vehicles, electrification and supply chains work across Europe. This includes policies regulating vehicle emissions, such as the EU car CO 2 standards, sustainable batteries and critical raw materials. Julia also represents T&E on the board of the Global Battery Alliance.
Julia previously worked as senior EU environment expert for the Mayor of London and, as an advisor to an MEP, followed legislation on renewables, energy efficiency and sustainable transport. Hailing from Latvia, Julia studied European politics and French at Goldsmiths, University of London, and holds an MSc in energy from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, specialising in batteries and fuel cells. She speaks English, French, Latvian and Russian, and loves swimming, reading and travelling in her spare time - as well as good red wine (with emphasis on oenology, not drinking, of course).

- T & E As an Analyst
Lucien joined T&E in December 2017 and currently leads the cars programme, coordinating T&E's efforts on car electrification. He and his team advocate for policies and regulations in Brussels aimed at accelerating electrification, regulating vehicle emissions, and decarbonising cars, including initiatives such as the EU car CO 2 standards, Euro7, and EU charging laws.
Lucien initially joined T&E as an analyst in the cars and freight team. In 2021, he served as interim director for the truck programme, followed by a role as interim director of T&E France in Paris in 2022. Since 2023, he has been the director of the cars programme.
Before joining T&E, Lucien interned at Tesla in Amsterdam, where he worked on policies and programmes promoting electro-mobility.
Originally from Clermont-Ferrand in central France, Lucien studied general engineering at l'Ecole Centrale Lyon, specialising in applied mathematics, business development, and business intelligence. He speaks English, French, and Spanish. Beyond his professional interests in electro-mobility, Lucien enjoys travelling, hiking, mountaineering, running, listening to music, and tasting Belgian beers with friends.

Nadine studied Media and Communications for Digital Business at the University of Applied Science Aachen and the Zuyd Hogeschool Maastricht and holds a master's degree in Environmental Science from the Wageningen University. Besides being a native German speaker, she speaks English, Dutch and (Brazilian) Portuguese. Apart from parkouring through the streets of Brussels and climbing (in the gym), she enjoys the tunes of her piano and doing her best to get a grasp on French.

Nora joined T&E in January 2021 as Senior Director for National Offices. In this role Nora is responsible for developing T&E's presence across Europe, representing the national offices in Brussels.
Nora is an experienced NGO leader, climate activist and feminist with more than 20 years' experience in developing and executing international campaigns, fundraising and engagement strategies. As global campaign leader at Greenpeace International, Nora developed and led a number of campaigns including Save The Arctic, Greenpeace's global oil campaign aimed at reducing oil supply and demand, and its global campaigns on ocean protection. Most recently, Nora worked with ActionAid in Denmark. Nora is Norwegian, but now lives in Copenhagen with her husband and two children. Whenever possible the family travels to Norway to enjoy skiing and hiking in the mountains.

Stef joined T&E in March 2016 after three internships at the Belgian Embassy, Flanders Investment & Trade, both in Berlin, and a one year internship at PubAffairs Bruxelles. He joined T&E's freight team and managed its clean trucks campaign before taking the role of Director of T&E's German office in Berlin.
Stef completed two master degrees in history and EU studies at the KU Leuven and Università Roma Tre. He travelled through South-America for half a year. A native Dutch speaker, Stef also speaks English, French, German, Italian and has a good understanding of Spanish. Apart from his work he loves travelling, reading and boxing.

Thomas joined T&E in 2016 and now heads the Trends and Analysis team, T&E's home of research and data analysis. He has a PhD in engineering from the University of Sydney and spent two and a half years as a postdoctoral research fellow in France. At T&E, he leads a talented team who produce high quality, relevant and impactful research, analysis and modelling, providing the base for informed policy recommendations and hard hitting campaigns. The team covers all of T&E's core areas of work, including all modes of transport, charging, energy, fuels, taxation, infrastructure and sustainable finance topics. Thomas is particularly fascinated in building compelling narratives with data visualisation and exploring the new possibilities of AI to enhance T&E's work.
Thomas speaks French and is progressing on his Dutch to keep up with his kids. Outside the office, he is a keen cyclist and classical guitar player.

Tiziana joined T&E in August 2020, after more than eight years at the European Commission's Directorate-General for Climate Action. Before that she worked in a lobby association in Brussels and at the Permanent Representation of Italy to the United Nations in Geneva. Tiziana, after having been the director of T&E's freight programme, now leads on projects to unlock Europe's potential for zero-emission vehicles.
At the Commission, she worked on the design and implementation of several climate policies, including the first EU legislation to reduce CO 2 emissions from heavy-duty vehicles. A native of Sardinia, she studied political science and international relations at the University of Cagliari, of Florence, and at the Freie Universität in Berlin. She speaks Italian, English, French, German and some Polish. Apart from trucks on the Belgian roads, you will find her contemplating a beautiful tree or the sea, if available.

William is the Executive Director of T&E, steering the organisation to promote, at EU and global level, an emissions-free mobility system. He joined the organisation in 2011, working first on cars and then taking over as T&E's freight director. He led civil society's efforts to have CO 2 emissions from trucks regulated for the first time in Europe.
William has been T&E's executive director since 2017 and in that time the team has grown from 28 to 120+ staff and the organisation has opened offices in five European capitals. T&E also started working in new areas such as sustainable finance, green batteries and clean cities. A Belgian native, William studied history and European studies. He started his career in Brussels working for a MEP, after which he joined Belgium's EU presidency working on climate and environment. William is a passionate cyclist, a dad and enjoys reading, especially about classical antiquity. He speaks Dutch, English, French and German.

Xavier joined T&E's sustainable finance team in November 2022. Passionate about social and environmental justice, he has extensive experience in running awareness-raising and advocacy campaigns for NGOs. Prior to joining T&E, he was for 10 years the director of the Counter Balance coalition, where he led campaigns to make public banks more accountable, sustainable and transparent. In particular, he coordinated the "Fossil Free EIB" campaign which contributed to getting the largest multilateral lender out of fossil fuels financing.
A French native, Xavier also holds Belgian nationality. After studying political sciences in Bordeaux and European affairs in Bruges, he moved to Brussels back in 2009. In his free time he enjoys many activities, including reading, especially adventure novels, running, playing football, and spending time with his family and kids.
