One of the partners was previously employed for 17 years by a major lock manufacturer and recognized a need for a contract door and hardware company to specialize and service the aftermarket, specifically, schools, hospitals, universities, manufacturing facilities and local general contractors, etc. With this target market in mind, the company was started with a limited number of product lines.
