Dr. David Musante is the current President of EmergeOrtho-Triangle Region and has served as the Medical Director of the NC Specialty Hospital in Durham, North Carolina since 2016. Prior to that, he served as President of the NC Specialty Hospital Medical Staff.
Following graduation from the University of Virginia School of Engineering with Distinction and the University of Virginia School of Medicine, he trained in neurological surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle and in orthopedic surgery at Duke University Medical Center.
He then obtained additional fellowship training in spinal surgery at the Texas Back Institute in Plano, Texas. Raised in Durham and Chapel Hill since childhood, Dr. Musante was happy to return to the Triangle to join Emerge Ortho (formerly Triangle Orthopedic Associates) in 2005.
Dr. Musante has been board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery since 2007. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a member of the North American Spine Society, the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery, the North Carolina Spine Association, the North Carolina Medical Society, and the Durham-Orange County Medical Society.

Dr. Hulka received his Bachelor's degree from Northwestern University and his medical degree from Duke University. He completed his residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a fellowship at University of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
His practice ranges from more common conditions such as chronic ear infections, tonsillitis and obstructive sleep apnea to the care of more complex medical problems requiring comprehensive, coordinated care with other pediatric specialists.
Dr. Hulka has served as the Chief of Staff for NCSH since 2015.

Dr. Aldridge obtained his undergraduate degree from Duke University. He is a graduate of the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, and completed his orthopedic surgery training at Duke University Medical Center. He then completed an additional year of subspecialty fellowship training in hand, upper extremity, and microsurgery at Duke University Medical Center. He served as assistant professor on the Duke Orthopedic staff for four years, during which time he served as chief of orthopedics at the Durham VAMC, and devoted countless hours towards research and teaching fellows, residents, and medical students.
Dr. Aldridge is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and has received his certificate of added qualification (CAQ) in Hand Surgery. He is past president of the North Carolina Orthopedic Association, the Duke Hand Society, and the North Carolina Society for Surgery of the Hand. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Southern Orthopedic Association, the Piedmont Orthopedic Society, the Bassett Orthopedic Society, the Southeastern Hand Society, the Shoulder and Elbow Society, and the prestigious American Orthopedic Association.

Jacen joins us from Surgery Partners' corporate headquarters in Brentwood, TN. He has multiple consecutive years of corporate healthcare experience. In the role of Chief Financial Officer, Jacen leads North Carolina Specialty's financial operations teams including revenue cycle, accounting, HIM (Healthcare Information Management), and plant operations.
Jacen graduated from Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration with an Accounting concentration, earned a Master of Accountancy from Middle Tennessee State University and a Master's in Healthcare Administration from Louisiana State University Shreveport.

Dr. Strachan is an accomplished MD/MBA with extensive clinical and administrative experience serving various roles as Chief of Staff, Physician Advisor, Interim Chief Medical Officer, Hospitalist Service Program Director, Pre-Anesthesia Testing Director.
Originally from The Bahamas, he completed undergraduate studies at McGill University, Montreal, QC, Canada. He completed his medical education at St. George's University, Grenada, WI, and residency training at Lenox Hill Hospital, NY, NY.
He has worked with individuals from diverse cultures and demographic backgrounds. He collaborates well with other physicians and healthcare teams and optimizes the usage of resources available within healthcare facilities.
Dr. Strachan delivers an impeccable work ethic, teamwork, devotion, flexibility, and an empathetic demeanor. He thrives in a fast-paced environment with the ability to remain calm in urgent situations. He has strong problem-solving, presentation, public speaking, and patient relation skills. He is an articulate communicator, delivers a creative, innovative approach to resolving issues and can effectively cope with uncertainty.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Roxboro Community Charter School, and Co-Chairs The Caribbean Health Collaborative, a non-profit geared toward improving health and advancing healthcare through education and innovation in The Caribbean.

Dr. Shadduck graduated with a BS in Biomedical Sciences from the University of California, Riverside, with Honors and Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his medical degree from UCLA, Summa Cum Laude. He completed his internship and residency in general surgery, with a two-year research fellowship in immunology and virology, at Duke University Medical Center.
Since completing his training at Duke, Dr. Shadduck has served the Durham and surrounding communities as a minimally invasive GI, hernia, and general surgeon since 1993. He has held multiple leadership roles at Duke Regional Hospital, Davis Ambulatory Surgery Center, and NC Specialty Hospital, including General Surgery Division Chief, Department of Surgery Vice-Chair, and Medical Executive Committee Member at all three institutions.
Dr. Shadduck has more than 50 publications and book chapters, and he is Editor of the SAGES Manual Ethics of Surgical Innovation. He has served as instructor to surgery residents, medical students, FNP students, PA students, and MSN students from Duke, UNC Chapel Hill, Campbell, Lenoir-Rhyne, and UNC Pembroke. He is diplomat of the American Board of Surgery, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and member of numerous professional societies. He is Doctor Honoris Causa at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Timisoara, Romania. He is editorial reviewer for Surgical Endoscopy, Journal of the American College of Surgeons, Journal of the Society of Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeons, International Journal of Medical Robotics and Computer Assisted Surgery, and Hernia.
Dr. Shadduck also remains committed to global healthcare. He has led both academic medical teams and medical mission teams to multiple continents for more than 20 years.
Dr. Shadduck will be joining the NCSH leadership team as General Surgery Medical Director.

Randi earned her undergraduate degree in Nursing from LaSalle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a Master's degree in Health Service Administration from the University of St. Francis, Joliet, Illinois.
Randi has 11 years of Operating Room experience and 25 years' experience in the management of surgical care delivery and overall hospital administration. She has worked in both the non-profit and for-profit arenas, as well as acute care hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. Randi is also the Regional VP of Operations for Surgery Partners.
She has held the position of Chief Executive Officer with North Carolina Specialty Hospital since 2004, overseeing the overall performance of care delivery, quality, satisfaction, and fiscal well-being of the hospital. Under her leadership, NCSH has been rated one of the best hospitals in the country for patient satisfaction and quality.
