Debajit Chaliha

Debajit Chaliha did his schooling in St. Edmunds School, Shillong and Delhi Public School, R.K.Puram, New Delhi. He graduated from St. Stephens College, Delhi. Debajit looks after the production side of the business. He has been instrumental in modernising the factory and improving the general health of the tea estate. Today Korangani Tea Estate is one of the highest yielding tea estates in Assam with much improved quality standards. He has initiated use of technology in the tea estate and has been responsible of the tea estate being ISO 22000 certified. He is also responsible for setting up of the new Unit for packaged drinking water and Ready to Drink (RTD) Tea. Debajit is keen to focus on tea tourism to educate people on tea. Debajit is presently an Executive Committee member of Bharatiya Cha Parishad, Dibrugarh and a sub-committee member of Guwahati Tea Auction Centre, Guwahati. He is married to Nayantara and they have two sons- Udayjit and Rudrajit. He lives in Guwahati.

Dhrubajit Chaliha

DHRUBAJIT CHALIHA (D.O.B. 23 June, 1967) has been educated at St. Edmund's School and College, Shillong and thereafter in Commerce at Delhi University. Since 1997, he has been actively involved in the marketing of the Company's branded tea, Korangani Tea and has hands-on experience with the Research & Development, designing and launch of different variants of their successful packaged tea brand. Ranjit Chaliha

Ranjit Chaliha is a qualified Mechanical Engineer from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. After a short stint with the Assam State Electricity Board, he joined the family tea business in 1961. Since then he has helped shape the tea estate to be one of the top tea estates in Assam. In the early 1980s he had designed and patented the ‘Jubilee Trailer', an innovative way to transport green tea leaves from the plantation to the factory, with minimal damage. Another patented design of his in 2014 is ‘Varun" , a technology driven device, which helps reduce fuel consumption and ensures consistent level of drying in tea. He initiated installing of the first computerized tea withering system in the world at Korangani Tea Estate n the late 1990s. He has been Chairman of Bharatiya Cha Parishad, an association of tea companies, for three terms. He was the Chairman of the Engineering Committee of Tea Research Association (TRA), Kolkata- the largest tea research facility in the world, for three terms. It was under his Charimanship that the Model Tea Factory (MTF) was set up in TRA's Jorhat campus. The MTF is vital for experimentation in the different processes of tea manufacture. He has served as a Director with the Assam Power Generation Corporation Limited. He has been the President of the All Assam Tennis Association as well as Vice President of the All India Tennis Association. Ranjit Chaliha is a keen tennis player. At present, Ranjit Chailha is the Chairman of Assam Hospitals Limited., Guwahati. He is married to Upa and they live in Guwahati. They have two sons- Dhrubajit and Debajit.
