The family-owned company was formed in 1983 as ‘Super Cooler', the original creator of the keg cooler. In 1986, Super Cooler changed its name to Iowa Rotocast Plastics to better reflect the continually expanding product offerings, and in 1987 the production was moved to a larger facility in Decorah, IA. Since it's inception, IRP has had three relocations and numerous physical expansions due to growth. The current IRP manufacturing plant based in Decorah is now over 200,000 square feet, with production running 24 hours a day, five days a week.
