Christian Deutsch

Christian Deutsch, M.D. is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated with honors from North Carolina State University and then earned his medical degree in 2012 from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, North Carolina. He then completed Cardiology fellowship and Interventional Cardiology fellowship at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky. He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Deutsch is on the medical staff at Huntsville Hospital and Crestwood Medical Center. His specialties include adult cardiovascular medicine, peripheral vascular disease, cardiac catheterization, coronary intervention, peripheral vascular intervention and PFO closure. Dr. Deutsch and his wife have been married since 2005 and have 3 children, Peyton, Piper and Grayson. He enjoys spending his spare time outdoors and being active with his family.

Dr. Jennifer Kiessling

Dr. Jennifer Kiessling is a native of Huntsville. She received a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2001. She then went on to graduate from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 2005. During her time in medical school, Jennifer was actively involved in medical research with the departments of neuroscience as well as surgery. After graduation from medical school, she completed a surgical internship at the Baptist Health System in Birmingham, AL. She then completed her internal medicine residency at Baptist Health System. It was during her time in internal medicine residency that she decided that she would pursue cardiology, and she returned to UAB Hospital to complete her cardiology fellowship. Dr. Kiessling also completed an Advanced Heart Failure/Heart Transplantation Fellowship at UAB. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and Nuclear Cardiology. She is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. During her cardiology fellowship she was continued to be involved with the education of medical students. She served as a preceptor for UAB first year medical students. Dr. Kiessling continues to serve as a mentor for medical students as well as students invested in the field of medicine. Upon graduation from the cardiology fellowship, Jennifer knew that she wanted to return home to practice cardiology in her hometown. In her spare time, she enjoys running, cooking, gardening, and walking her two shelties, Harry and George. Dr. Kiessling's goal is to improve the heart of patients by offering evidence based, personalized, and comprehensive care. We are so very happy and excited to have Dr. Kiessling in our office. Kelley W. Smith

Kelley Smith, M. D. graduated from Meharry Medical College in Nashville Tennessee in 1991. He then entered the United States Army and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso Texas. He then served two years as a staff Internist at Winn Army Community Hospital in Fort Stewart Georgia. During this time, he also served overseas in Kuwait. He then completed his Cardiology fellowship at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonia Texas in 1999. During the next three years on active duty, he was a staff Cardiologist at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta Georgia. He then left the military and came to Huntsville to establish private practice at HCC. This practice offered him the opportunity to practice cardiology in a move traditional model in continuity and care for his patients. He practices at both Crestwood and Huntsville Hospital. He has been Medical Director of Cardiology at Crestwood Hospital since 2012. Dr. Smith is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology and Nuclear Cardiology. He has an interest in all aspects of clinical cardiology as well as percutaneous coronary intervention and permanent pacemaker implantation. He also has an interest in diagnosis and treatment of Venous disease to include radiofrequency ablation. Dr. Smith grew up in Columbia Tennessee. He and his wife have five children and have been living in Huntsville Alabama since 2002.

W. Quinton Foster

Dr. W. Quinton Foster, a native of San Diego California and graduate of Hampton University, earned his medical degree from Emory University in 2001, then completed residency at Emory and Grady Hospitals in Atlanta, Georgia. He was awarded an advanced cardiovascular imaging fellowship by Tulane University in New Orleans and was one of the physicians who remained in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. Dr. Foster completed a general cardiovascular diseases fellowship at Tulane, then continued his training as a clinical cardiac electrophysiologist with the University of Toledo Medical Center in Ohio, where he remained as an assistant professor, who enjoyed teaching, patient care, and research publication. Since relocating to Huntsville, he has been the first to implant the new MRI-conditional ICD in the Rocket City, the first to bring the cryoballoon atrial fibrillation ablation technology to North Alabama, and one of the first to implant the new Micra leadless pacemaker in the state. His main areas of interests include cardiac arrhythmia management, catheter ablation, and cardiac implantable device implantation and management (including subcutaneous ICD). Dr. Foster was selected for the inaugural class of Emerging Advocates for the American College of Cardiology, a two-year fellowship designed to develop leaders within the organization. Even though he has recently graduated from the fellowship, he still enjoys advocating for heart health every year on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. He is a fellow of both the Heart Rhythm Society and the American College of Cardiology. His other outside interests are, first of all, spending time with his family and then running marathons and doing genealogical research.

Warren L. Strickland III

Dr. Warren Strickland has been a practicing cardiologist for over 20 years. He received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas in 1984. He completed both his residency and fellowship at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he was awarded the Outstanding Cardiology Fellow during his fellowship. He is a board member of the American Heart Association and a member of the Association of Black Cardiologists. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians, and American College of Angiography, and the American College of Chest Pain. He also served on the Huntsville Hospital Authority Board for 12 years. His specialties are very diverse and include: PFO/ASD Closure, carotid/coronary/peripheral and subclavian stenting, rotoablation, venous reflux radiofrequency ablation (RFA), and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). Dr. Strickland is widely regarded in the field of interventional cardiology with numerous awards and recognitions. He has exemplified servant leadership in our community and in the field of medicine. He is married to Isabella Wofford Strickland, M.D., and they have three children-Matthew, Ashley, and Mary.

William J. Schneider

Dr. Schneider joined the Huntsville Cardiovascular Clinic in July 2011. He treats all aspects of adult heart disease, with a particular emphasis on stress tests and echocardiograms. Dr. Schneider attended medical school at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, where he was awarded a Dean's Scholarship, and partook in cardiac rotations at the Cleveland Clinic. He completed an internal medicine residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital through Washington University in St. Louis and a cardiology fellowship at the University of Louisville. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Nuclear Cardiology, and Echocardiography. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is active in the American Medical Association. Dr. Schneider lives in Huntsville and enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. They are very active in the community. He is on the medical staff at Crestwood Medical Center and Huntsville Hospital. He is currently accepting new patients.
