Young started a coal distribution business in Southeast Pennsylvania. The business was carried on by Francis P. Young and eventually settled in the Logan section of Philadelphia. When Francis P. Young passed away in 1953 the business was then carried on by George, Frank, John and Joe Young. It was about this time that coal heat was falling out of favor for a newer more modern way to heat, Fuel oil! John Young along with his 3 brothers built up the business as a premiere fuel oil sales and service company.
