Cooperative action is critically important to preserve the rights and resources available to persons with visual impairments and to prevent reductions in programs and funding. Experience has shown that working together on common goals is effective and necessary to advance the interest of people who are blind or have low vision.AVIT promotes inter-organizational collaboration, communication, shared resources, and combined efforts. We believe through joint action the lives of many individuals with visual impairments will be improved.The Alliance of and for Visually Impaired Texans is an inter-organizational coalition committed to speak on behalf of Texas‘ children and adults with visual impairments. AVIT is organized for charitable and educational purposes as provided for in the Internal Revenue Code.
