Alberto is the EEB's communications expert for climate and energy topics. He is a former journalist with experience in media outlets, NGOs, and political groups. As a reporter, he has worked for the Spanish national broadcaster (RTVE), Europa Press, eldiario.es, Aqui Europa, and as a freelancer. In Brussels, he handled strategic communications for the Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament, the European Cycling Federation, and the European Civic Forum. Originally from Spain, he speaks English, Spanish, and Italian, and is currently enhancing his French skills.
Aleksandra is responsible for the day-to-day HR operations and activities.
Aleksandra graduated in Marketing and Management from Poznan University of Economics and previously worked for two communication agencies in Brussels.
She is Polish and speaks Polish, English and French.

Aliki is working on pollution prevention and control of industrial activities, in particular the review of the environmental performance benchmarks (Best Available Techniques Reference Documents) for industry.
Before joining the EEB, she worked for a Brussels-based European Federation in the area of waste management and environmental services, as an environmental auditor in Greece and at the European Commission's Executive Agency for SMEs.
She holds an MSc in Environmental Technology and an MEng in Chemical Engineering.
Aliki is Greek and speaks English and some French.
Alina is the Secretary of the EEB.
She also supports the Office Management operations and assists the Secretary General.
Alina studied linguistics in her native Saint-Petersburg, and before moving to Belgium she worked in administrative services.
She speaks Russian, English and Dutch, and uses every opportunity to improve her French.
In her spare time, she enjoys walking in the fields and taking care of her horses.

Andriy Andrusevych is Senior Policy Expert at Resource & Analysis Center "Society and Environment", an environmental think-tank organization in Ukraine. program of the Ukrainian Catholic University Law School. Mr. Andrusevych has many years of experience working with environmental public interest law organizations. Mr. Andrusevych is active member of the coordination body of the European ECO Forum, a coalition of environmental NGOs from all parts of Eurasia and delegation member for the Aarhus and Espoo Conventions, and SEA Protocol bodies. He has served for many years as European ECO Forum Legal Focal Point for Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia and has extensive experience in promoting implementation of and compliance with multilateral environmental agreements, especially the Aarhus and Espoo Conventions. He authored several publications in the area of environmental human rights, international environmental law and compliance mechanisms under multilateral environmental agreements. In recent years he has focused on Ukraine's implementation of the EU environmental and climate acquis.

Anke is the EEB's Head of Human Resources.
Her professional experience includes operations, finance and human resource management, and organisational development for the European Patients' Forum, Concord Europe and Friends of the Earth Europe. She is also a coach.
Before moving into this line of work, Anke managed the South East England Brussels Office and a social NGO, where her work included policy analysis and successful advocacy campaigns on regional, economic and social policy. Prior to this, she was a Detached National Expert at the European Commission.
Anke speaks German, English and French.

Annick is the Communications Officer for Biodiversity. She holds an MSc in Animal Welfare Science, Ethics and Law, a BA in Journalism and a BA in International Communication. She is currently completing an MSc in Biodiversity, Wildlife and Ecosystem Health at the University of Edinburgh.
After working as a communication and media expert for the Flemish and Brussels governments and for the Flemish Association of Journalists, Annick became a freelance journalist and researcher specialising in biodiversity, animal welfare, agriculture and climate-related issues. She is fluent in Dutch and English, actively improving her French and German, and has a basic knowledge of Spanish.

Axel Jansen has been the Finance, Administration and Development Director at BEUC, the European Consumer Organisation since 2009. He was previously working as Finance Manager at the EEB from 1997 to 2006. Axel entered the Brussels NGO world in 1992 and has no plans to return to the private sector! Axel studied applied economics - nowadays called MBA. Axel is really happy to bring his knowledge and qualifications to improve the environment. For the moment, he is involved in a cooperative shop in his neighbourhood and gives French lessons to migrants. And during his free time, he enjoys travelling and cycling.

Beatriz coordinates EEB's communications on chemicals. She has worked for over 12 years as a communications professional in the non-profit sector, in several international networks and non-governmental organisations. She specialises in the design, implementation and impact of communication and awareness-raising campaigns. With a background training in Journalism and Social Communication at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid and a Social Sciences diploma at the Sorbonne Nouvelle-Paris III University, her professional career has always aimed to combine work, training, commitment, and social vocation in a single project.
She speaks Spanish, French and English.

Ben works in the Communications team on agriculture and food systems adaptation.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Spanish (University of Exeter) and Master's degree in European Studies (King's College London).
Before joining the EEB, his experience includes work at: a Brussels-based public affairs consultancy; the European Parliament (DG COMM); and a European geopolitical think-tank.
A native English speaker, Ben also speaks Spanish and German, and is learning French.
Bernhard Zlanabitnig is of Austrian origin, living and working in Vienna. He holds an M.A. in law from the University of Vienna and 2 post-graduate degrees, M.Sc. in humanitarian management & logistics from the University of Lugano and M.A.S. in renewable energy systems from the Technical University of Vienna. He is Director of the EU-Umweltbüro in Vienna and Vice-President of the EEB. He is also Steering Group member of SDG Watch Austria and SDG Watch Europe.

Bich is the communications officer for the decarbonisation of the building materials, heating and cooling, and sustainable product design. With a background in Marketing Management and visual arts, she dedicates herself to shaping narratives through creative storytelling. Her work at the EEB channels her former engagement as a multimedia specialist at the European Parliament, and her part-time efforts on projects that fuse public arts with political activism for queer asylum seeker rights. Fluent in English, Swedish, and Vietnamese, she is learning Dutch, German and French.

Bjela Vossen is the head of the European Policy Department of Deutscher Naturschutzring (DNR), for which she has been working since 2004. DNR is the umbrella organisation of German nature conservation, animal and environmental protection organizations. It currently has close to 100 member organisations which together represent about 15 million individual members. Bjela and her team coordinate the EU activities of German environmental organizations closely with Brussels based environmental organisations and influence EU policy - in Brussels and Berlin. The team informs German environmental protection and conservation organizations about current developments at the EU level through numerous meetings and publications like a weekly newsletter.

Blanca studied Environmental Sciences for her undergraduate degree and holds a Research Masters on Environmental Education and a Diploma on Environmental Management Systems.
She has recently worked as Pollution Control Officer for ECOS and was previously the EU Ecolabel Coordinator in EEB and the European Consumers' Organisation (BEUC) from 2007 till 2010. Before that she was a trainee at the EU Commission in the field of EMAS, worked in the Local Agenda 21 of Granada and was involved in cooperation projects in Mexico and Ukraine.

Caterina works as Associate Membership Governance Officer.
She holds a bachelor's degree in Humanities and a Master's degree in Visual Arts at the Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna. She became part of the team in November 2022, initially as an Events Assistant.

She holdsa Master's degree in Public Policy and Human Development from the University of Maastricht and the United Nations University (UNU-MERIT), a Master's degree in Comparative and International Politics from the KULeuven and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the Université Catholique de Louvain-la-Neuve.
Before joining EEB, Charline worked as policy and project officer in international cooperation at SOLIDAR, focusing on issues related to social justice in the MENA and Sub-Saharan regions.

Christian is in charge of activities on industrial production, in particular the review of the environmental performance benchmarks (Best Available Techniques Reference Documents) for industry.
He studied international law and graduated with a Master's specialisation in environmental law in Egypt, Norway and France.
He previously worked for the German Federal Environmental Protection Agency, the European Commission's Renewable Energy DG and in a Brussels-based industry group promoting renewable energy sources.
He holds German-French nationality and speaks English, basic Norwegian and some Arabic.
Christian brings extensive experience in strategic communications, advocacy, and project management to our team at the European Environmental Bureau (EEB). Based in Brussels since 2017, he specializes in EU communications.

Christine works on the restriction of chemicals under the European chemical regulation REACH.
She follows the regulatory processes and represents EEB as an observer in the committees at the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
She holds a bachelor degree in environmental engineering and a master in risk assessment and sustainability management from the Darmstadt University of applied sciences.
She gained work experience as a student worker and intern in environmental consulting (Oekoinstitut e.V., e-hoch-3, GIZ) and ECHA, what brought her into contact with topics beyond chemicals, such as circular economy, life cycle assessment and climate impact reporting.

Cosimo works in the Climate and Energy team. He focuses on renewable energy and related EU policies, especially in the framework of the PAC 2.0 project.
Prior to joining the EEB, he has worked in the Lombardy Region's government, focusing on electro-mobility and energy efficiency, and at the University of Milan, where he was in charge of managing research projects in the field of climate, agriculture, and circular economy.
He holds a Master's degree in political science from the University of Pavia, Italy. He speaks English, Italian, and bits of French and Spanish. Outside of work, he is very keen on jazz music, distance running, and hiking in the mountains.

Celia leads the EEB's work on agricultural and food policy, covering the CAP, agriculture in the Fit for 55 package, carbon farming, and food system governance.

Daniel works in the communication team covering air quality issues.
Before joining the EEB, Daniel worked for a corporate social responsibility network and at an innovation network focused on accelerating the green transition.

Davide is Senior Policy Officer for Climate and Circular Economy. Davide tries to bridge the gap between CE policies and Climate policies to decarbonize industry and the heating sector. He is also working on climate sequestration in buildings and on the development of the batteries sector.
In the past he has been working for a long time at Legambiente, in the fields of energy efficiency, refrigerant gases and circular economy.
He holds a Master's degree in Political Sciences from the University of Padua, Italy, and he likes to bike his way through Europe on holidays. He's also interested in trekking, rhymes and trains.

Diego Marin works with the Global Policy team.
He hold a Master in International Development with a specialization in Political Strategy and Communication from the University of Kent, Brussels School of International Studies. During his academic career, Diego mainly focused on environmental issues, indigenous rights, and poverty alleviation.
He previously interned for the Red Cross EU Office working on development projects. Diego spent some time in Cajamarca, Peru where he completed his thesis on the impact of extractivism and its link to poverty exacerbation in the region.

Dolores is an agriculture engineer (Polytechnic University of Madrid) and holds a master's degree in Occupational Health.
Before joining the EEB, Dolores was working as a consultant on chemical risk prevention. She worked extensively on chemicals and waste policies for several environmental NGOs (Greenpeace, Fundación Ecología y Desarrollo and Ecologistas en Acción) and for the trade union institute ISTAS in Spain.

Dr Anke Stock is a lawyer and board member of WECF, a European and international network of over 250 women's and civil society organisations working on transformative gender equality and women's human rights in interconnection with climate justice, sustainable energy and chemicals, safe water and sanitation for all. Anke is working on gender mainstreaming environmental projects and programmes within WECF's network and beyond and is advocating for gender equality within multilateral environmental agreements and the European Green Deal.

A French national with far-off German origins, Faustine is a true European. With more than fifteen years of professional experience in EU environmental policy, she is a true environmentalist.
As Director for Nature, Health and Environment, she leads a large policy portfolio of the organisation: namely biodiversity, water, soil; agriculture and food; chemicals; mercury and air quality and noise and she is part of the senior management team.
Between 2009 and 2018 she was leading the agriculture work of the EEB. Before re-joining the civil society movement, she spent 5 years in leading roles within the sustainability think tanks' community, as Head of the agriculture and land management program first and then External Impact Director.
At the beginning of her career she also worked for the European Commission Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development.
Faustine has a master's degree in International and European Law and holds a MSc in European politics from Science Po Strasbourg.
She speaks French and English and a bit of German.

Francesca is Senior Legal Officer and is in charge of the EEB's work on environmental law and governance. Francesca leads on trade and due diligence and was leading the Implement for LIFE project where she worked on the implementation of EU laws in the member states and other broader horizontal legal issues, such as participatory rights and access to justice.
Before joining the EEB, Francesca worked for the NGO Shipbreaking Platform and for a Brussels-based sustainability consultancy, Lumina Consult. She also did a traineeship at the European Commission's Legal Service in 2012 where she worked in the External Relations and CFSP unit.
Francesca is passionate about the ocean and speaks English, French, Swedish and Italian and is learning Arabic.

Isabel is part of the Agriculture Team and works on the EU's transition to a Sustainable Food System.
She holds a BA in Economic Development, International Cooperation and Conflict Management from the University of Florence and an MA in International and Diplomatic Affairs from Bologna University. After specialising on the history of the EU's Common Agricultural Policy, she expanded her focus on food while interning at the EU Delegation to the UN Organisations in Rome.
Before joining EEB she worked with Slow Food Europe and with German consultancy GFA, collaborating with the European Commission and focusing on sustainable agri-food systems in EU partner countries.

Jai is working on pollution prevention and control of industrial activities in particular water- energy nexus. He also co-leads the water working group in Europe Beyond coal campaign, which aims at phasing out coal power plants from Europe by 2030.

Karima Hammouche is a lawyer and a member of the Luxembourg Bar and a founding partner of the law firm "Etude Hammouche, Avocats à la Cour ". She specialises in national and international litigation, with a particular focus on environmental disputes. She is very active in the environmental field. She advices Natur&Ëmwelt ONG which works for the preservation of the biodiversity in a diverse and cultural landscape through awareness raising advice, practical, scientific and political actions. She has been appointed expert of the Luxembourg Bar in the CCBE (Council of European Bars) Committee on Corporate Social Responsibility and Comittee on Environment and Climate Change. She is editor-in-chief of the legal review "Jurisnews Droit de l'Environnement". Also, she is a regular lecturer in the Council of Europe's HELP (Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals) programme on environment and human rights

Luke leads the EEB's climate and energy team. Before joining EEB, Luke was policy analyst and climate economist at the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change (MCC) in Berlin. He previously worked as an economist at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris and at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW) in Berlin.
He has a PhD in economics from the Paris School of Economics, an M.Phil in Economics and a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford.
Luke holds British and German nationality and speaks English, French, German and Spanish.

- Senior Policy Officer for Sustainable Development and Public Participation
As Senior Policy Officer for Sustainable Development & Public Participation, Manuela leads the coordination of REAL DEAL for the EEB, a Horizon2020 project which focuses on stepping up citizens' participation in the European Green Deal. She is responsible for the EEB' work on the realisation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Previously, she worked at the United Nations Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (Canada) on the cities and biodiversity work programme and contributed to the UN Habitat Policy Issues Papers supporting the New Urban Agenda. She has experience with networks of cities and regions for environment, climate and energy in Europe and Asia, including a background as a researcher on participatory democracy at local level.
Manuela has a Master's degree in Environmental Governance awarded by the Institute for the Advanced Studies of Sustainability of the United Nations University in Tokyo and another in Urban Planning and Policy from the Polytechnic of Milan.
She speaks Italian, English and Portuguese and is improving her French, Dutch and German.

Marco works with the EU policy Team on financial, fiscal and economic instruments for the green transition.

Prior to joining the EEB, he worked on circular economy and environmental policies as EU Public Affairs and Communication Manager for EUROPEN, the European Organisation for Packaging and the Environment. Previously, he also worked in the European Parliament as junior policy assistant for a Member of the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Committee and completed an internship with the Association of Italian Joint Stock Companies.

Mariana is a lawyer specialised in International Law and Regulatory Affairs both in Latin America and Europe.
She started her career working as a Legal Officer at the Brazilian Superior Court of Justice. In 2020, she worked at the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), getting in close contact with the latest REACH updates and the Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability. Continuing her efforts for a better EU legislation in Chemicals, before joining the EEB, she worked as a Public Affairs consultant for frontrunner industries that wish to push for more ambitious green policies.
Mariana is Brazilian/Italian and speaks Portuguese, Italian and English fluently and Spanish and French in an intermediate level.

Noémie is part of the Chemicals Team and works on improving the EU Chemicals policy through different projects.

Before joining the EEB, Noémie completed a traineeship in the Budget Committee Secretariat of the European Parliament and worked for an NGO focusing on fisheries and ocean conservation.

Nuria Blázquez is a biologist and Ms of protected area management. She is the head of international affairs of Ecologistas en Acción, a Spanish grassroots confederation of over 300 environmental groups working in biodiversity, energy, transportation, agroecology, water, air quality, ecofeminism, and mining, among other environmental issues. She conducts EU-related activities and assists local organisations facing serious consequences in their areas in raising their voice in Europe.

Olatz is working on pollution prevention and control of industrial activities. She supports policy development with a legal focus, in particular regarding the ongoing revision of the Industrial Emissions Directive. She is also involved in topics related to climate and water protection as well as environmental democracy and rights linked to the Aarhus Convention. Olatz studied Law and International Relations and specialised in Human Rights Law. Before joining the EEB, she worked for the European Ombudsman in case handling, several Brussels based consultancies and the Delegation of the Basque Country for the EU. Olatz speaks Basque, Spanish, English, French and some Italian.

Patrizia has been working as an advocate for environmental justice, human rights and sustainable development for 20 years, mainly with NGOs in Europe and Asia. She was previously Executive Director of the NGO Shipbreaking Platform, served as a parliamentary advisor to the Greens in Germany and worked in development cooperation in South Asia.
Patrizia is the EEB's Deputy Secretary General and Director for European Governance, Sustainability and Global Policies.
She leads the EEB's work on sustainable development and environmental justice and follows intergovernmental processes at regional and global level including the UN Environment Assembly. For UN Environment, she serves as an elected Regional Facilitator for Europe for stakeholder engagement.
She supervises the teams working on European Institutions and Governance, Environmental Law and Justice, Economic Transition and Regional and Global Policies.
She is part of the EEB's Senior Management Team and acts as its Diversity Manager. Patrizia represents the EEB on the board of European Movement International.
She has been working as an advocate for environmental justice, human rights and sustainable development for more than 20 years, mainly with CSOs in Europe and Asia. She was previously Executive Director of the NGO Shipbreaking Platform, served as a parliamentary advisor to the Greens in Germany and worked in development cooperation and women's rights in South Asia.
Patrizia holds an M.A. in Political Science and Comparative Literature and an LL.M in International Human Rights Law.
She speaks English, French and German, a bit of Italian and Bengali.

Pegah Moulana is a 26 years old British-Iranian, currently working as the Secretary General of Youth and Environment Europe (YEE). Pegah is the current Committee of Ministers Recommendation paper on Climate Crisis and young people rapporteur at the Youth Department of Council of Europe and has been the founding portfolio lead on climate crisis and young people at Council of Europe. She has been the chairperson of European Youth Foundation from 2019 to 2021, tasked with supporting youth led organisations across Europe to receive monetary assistance in running youth led, non-formal education centric programmes across Europe.

Robin is active in the field of resource justice, extractivism, and critical raw materials policy. He has worked as a Resource Justice Assistant at the European Environmental Bureau (EEB) and was a volunteer at CATAPA, a member of the EEB.
Robin has a degree in Conflict and Development Studies from Ghent University, where he specialized in resource conflicts and protests.
Together with other civil society organisations he writes and monitors Raw Materials policy, and the necessity for a transition away from destructive and depleting mining practices toward systemic change.

Sergiy leads the EEB's work on the Water Framework Directive and coordinates the EEB's involvement in efforts for a better implementation of the EU Nature Directives and the EU Biodiversity Strategy to 2020.
Before joining EEB, Sergiy worked as a Policy Director for the European Water Partnership, promoting uptake of water stewardship approaches, as well as for WWF on a range of projects from river restoration to advocacy for ambitious EU laws.

Stefan Scheuer leads EU policy advocacy for CHEM Trust, a European member of the EEB, and represents civil society at the European Chemicals Agency. Stefan has been shaping EU environmental policies for the last 25 years. He headed the Coalition for Energy Savings to make it a climate priority and lead the EEB's campaigns for the Water Framework Directive and the REACH regulation.

Stephane has educational background in philosophy and environmental management.
Tatiana graduated from the University of Cádiz (Spain) and is specialized in Environmental and Food Chemistry. She also holds a Master's degree in both Environmental Impact Assessment and Occupational Health and Safety.
Previously she worked for the Spanish occupational institute ISTAS and the European Trade Union Institute (ETUI).
She is Spanish and speaks Spanish, English and basic French.

Tessa is responsible for supporting the implementation of EEB's fundraising strategies, researching new funding opportunities and supporting the EEB membership development. Tessa holds a master's degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from the University of Antwerp. Before joining the EEB, she worked for the WWF European Policy Office in the areas of EU funding and project management, after having worked for UNICEF and UN Environment. She is a Flemish-speaking Belgian national and also speaks English, French and Portuguese.
Toni Vidan has been the President of the EEB since 2024. Long term sustainable energy campaigner from Zagreb, Croatia. President of the Zelena akcija - FoE Croatia (1995 - 2000), first coordinator of the national network of environmental CSOs Zeleni forum. During career, active in Climate action network, Friends of the Earth, and INforSE. Initiated and coordinated the project "Solar Academy for South-east Europe" (2002.-2020.), the educational centre on the island Šolta. From 2013 till 2020 member of the European Economic and Social Committee. Since 2020, active as independent expert and trainer, primarily in the Western Balkan region on the topic of green transition, and currently representing the City of Zagreb in the Board of the regional energy and climate agency REGEA.
