Adam Coumis

Adam joined Lyons Davidson in 2012. He has worked in the Civil Litigation department since 2013 as a member of the Property Disputes team. As part of the team, Adam has advised on disputes arising from a range of complex and high-value property law matters, including rights of way, rights of light, trespass, nuisance, party wall disputes, adverse possession, boundary disputes and property damage cases, including landlord and tenant property damage disputes. As a member of the Property Disputes team, Adam specialises in tree and invasive species damage claims on behalf of individual and commercial clients, including claims concerning root damage, fallen trees, tree preservation orders, subsidence, heave, and encroaching vegetation and branches. Alex Hewitt - Chief Compliance Officer

Alex graduated from Bristol Polytechnic (now the University of the West of England) in law in 1987 and joined Lyons Davidson as a trainee solicitor in 1989, qualifying in 1991. For the first ten years, Alex specialised in personal injury litigation, mainly involving road traffic accidents, on behalf of claimants. She became a partner in 1999 while still in the personal injury department and gradually became involved in handling complaints before becoming Compliance Partner. Now she is responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory matters, primarily the Code of Conduct, as well as having overall responsibility for dealing with complaints throughout the whole company. Alex takes a keen interest in the changing face of regulation of solicitors. She became Compliance Director in 2012 and is the COLP for Lyons Davidson Ltd.

Amayi Hampson

Angelina Gritseniouk

Angelina is a senior associate at Lyons Davidson and qualified as a solicitor in 2006. She specialises in a broad spectrum of commercial property work, including commercial landlord and tenant, land acquisitions and disposals, development work and secured lending. Angelina acts for a wide range of clients, from individuals, to SMEs, to blue chip companies, although she predominantly acts for public sector clients, including, university and educational bodies. Angelina also works with health care clients, including a national occupational health provider. Angelina gained invaluable experience as a litigation lawyer, during the early part of her career, acting on complex, high-value and non-standard property and professional negligence claims. Angelina's experience in more contentious areas of law, allows her to provide a holistic service to her clients, when needed in order to effectively identify areas of risk and provide well thought out commercial advice. Before joining the legal profession, Angelina lived in Belarus where she obtained a first class honours degree (BA) in five languages, economics and Belarussian law. Also, when younger, Angelina was part of the Belarussian Olympic high dive training team and used to dive from 10 meters!

Catherine Bambra

Catherine joined Lyons Davidson in 2007, having studied English Literature at the University of the West of England.. Catherine completed her CILEx qualification in 2017 while working at Lyons Davidson and was promoted to Principal Associate in 2018, and partner in 2022. In 2013, Catherine moved to the Civil Division of Lyons Davidson as a paralegal working in our professional negligence team. In August 2016, she became a Team Leader within our Contract Resolution Department and further developed her relationships with our commercial and insurer clients, working to improve our service delivery and operational management. Catherine's role developed and she was promoted to Partner in 2022. She is currently Head of Operational Management for the Contract Resolution department, as well as a Project Manager within the Civil Division.

Catherine Turner

Catherine began her legal career at the University of the West of England, graduating in law in 1999 and completing her Postgraduate Diploma Bar Vocational Course in 2000. She joined Lyons Davidson in 2000. Catherine was appointed Partner in June 2018. She specialises in commercial property, with a particular interest in pension fund investment property. She acts for market-leading pension fund providers on investment property matters. She also assists small and large businesses with landlord and tenant matters, planning and development.

Chris Kemp

Chris studied law at Aberystwyth University and completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law Chester. He then worked as a paralegal for Abson Hall Solicitors in Stockport before becoming a trainee solicitor with the firm and qualifying as a solicitor in 1999. He completed a 2-year Post Graduate Diploma in Personal Injury Litigation at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2004. Chris moved to the South West in 2003 to join the catastrophic injury department of Penleys Solicitors, specialising in severe brain and spinal injuries. He then joined Lyons Davidson in February 2006. Chris deals with a wide variety of personal injury claims specialising in accidents at work, faulty products, unsafe premises and claims against Highways Authorities. He has successfully handled a claim involving a below knee amputation which settled in the sum of £1.925 million and he routinely deals with complex and high value cases involving: Amputations. Fibromyalgia. Work related upper limb disorders. Finger amputations. Eye injuries resulting in loss of vision. Post-concussion syndrome. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and other psychological injuries. Spinal fractures Serious upper and lower limb fractures. Complex financial losses calculations.

David Leslie

David is a partner and Employment Law Group Leader. He joined Lyons Davidson in 2010 and now manages our teams of employment lawyers in Bristol and Leeds. He is responsible for the Employment Group's performance, as well as supervising a number of case handlers. David enjoys sharing his tactical nous and strategic approach with the group. David's clients include universities, academy trusts and GP groups. He advises employers and employees on a range of issues relating to the employment relationship, including HR and disciplinary issues, settlement agreements, discrimination and TUPE transfers. He has extensive experience of handling complex Employment Tribunal claims and has specialised in employment law since 2005. David has recently acted on behalf of a number of schools and colleges facing multiple allegations of discrimination and detriment related to whistleblowing. David has delivered employment law training to clients nationally, including leading seminars on social media issues at work and redundancy processes. He is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and regular contributor to Daniel Barnett's employment law blog.

Lois Watson

Lois has worked for Lyons Davidson since August 2012, after completing her degree in Law with French at the University of Newcastle and her LPC at BPP Law School in Leeds. Lois initially started as a paralegal in the insurance litigation department. She completed a one year secondment in the Edinburgh office and obtained a training contract to start in 2017. After completing nine months of her training contract in the employment department she qualified as an employment solicitor in September 2019. Lois was promoted to Associate in 2020. Lois advises both employers and employees on contentious and non-contentious matters as well as running her own caseload of complex Employment Tribunal claims. She deals with both legal expenses insurance and private instructions. Lois also provides training on employment matters and helps co-ordinate the employment department's website and social media contribution. Alongside her work, she supervises a small team of case handlers. Lois prides herself on her exceptional client care skills, providing clear and practical advice and meeting her client's needs.
