I trained at Bretton Hall College of Education (Leeds University) as a Primary School Teacher and Music Specialist. During this period I studied the piano with concert pianist Keith Swallow. I qualified as a teacher in June 1984. I taught on a full time basis from 1984-1991 working firstly at Great Moor Infant School before moving to Cheadle Primary School in 1987. I returned to work as a supply teacher in 1997 once our sons, Timothy and Daniel, were in full time education. I have worked in a number of schools including Nevill Rd Infants, Ladybrook Primary School and Hursthead Primary School. I trained at the Royal Northern College of Music and at Liverpool University. I have given recitals throughout Britain and in France and Germany. I qualified as a teacher in June 1981. I was awarded a composition prize in the USA in the 2008 Alienor Harpsichord Competition.
