The North Yorkshire Music Therapy Centre (NYMTC) was founded in 1989 by Mary Abbotson, a trained music therapist, and her husband Raymond. A passionate advocate for accessible, community-based therapeutic services, Mary sought to create a space where individuals could experience the transformative power of music. In 1990, NYMTC officially became a registered charity (No. 702533), further solidifying its commitment to supporting the local community... At the North Yorkshire Music Therapy Centre, we offer music therapy sessions, workshops, and events across North Yorkshire, focusing on enhancing wellbeing and personal growth. Our services are available in both community settings, clinical settings, and at our welcoming Music Therapy Centre at The Byre, Hovingham. We also provide online resources for teachers, parents, and carers to support their work with individuals... North Yorkshire Music Therapy Centre has provided music therapy to people across North Yorkshire for over 30 years.
