Rachel started her career in the Early Years Foundation Stage, and joined Terrington Hall in 2010. She soon led the Early Years team and later progressed into senior leadership as Head of Pre-Prep. She is Deputy Head Pastoral, with a focus on Children's Mental Health and Wellbeing. The role of DHP encompasses many areas including a full overview of the pastoral system, supporting staff and children with their wellbeing and supporting the recruitment, induction and mentoring of new staff.
Rachel is passionate about forming solid relationships with her students and parents, to ensure that the best support and care can be given. She feels that a healthy mental wellbeing is what encompasses a whole rounded education.
Rachel also draws on her experience and expertise in leading teams, recognising that staff should be empowered to seek new initiatives to maintain super professional development but also to keep their learning environments vibrant, fresh and exciting. In her free time, Rachel enjoys walking, crafting and singing but most importantly spending precious time with her partner and their children.

Adrian joined Terrington Hall in 2011 having worked at St Peter's, Bootham, Abbotsholme and Ackworth Schools.
Apart from keeping Terrington's finances in order, he is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, catering and cleaning of the school and for all health and safety issues.
He plays cricket locally, is involved with York Round Table and enjoys walking and cycling.
Huw has 25 years' experience in independent education in both Prep and Senior boarding schools and is passionate about the importance and benefits of a prep school education.
He spent 11 happy years in his first post at Blundell's school, Devon, as a PE teacher and boarding assistant before being appointed as a Housemaster and Director of Rugby at Glenalmond College, a full boarding school in rural Perthshire. After 7 years in post, he moved South to become Director of Sport and subsequently Director of Operations and Co-curricular at Sherborne Prep School in Dorset. Most recently, Huw has been Head of Prep at Plymouth College, a day and boarding school in Devon.
Throughout his career, Huw has valued the importance of combining traditional values with innovation. His warm, collaborative approach and open-door policy ensures he is very much involved with the school community. He also has high expectations for every child, member of staff - and for Terrington Hall going forward.
Huw's wife Becca is a teacher at Terrington Hall. His two sons, aged 22 and 19, have now flown the nest but are regular visitors.
Outside of school, he is an avid sports fan and enjoys nothing more than a dog walk with Lola (his loveable and affectionate fox red labrador) and catching up with family and friends.

Stuart joined Terrington Hall in January 2015, prior to which he was the Senior Deputy Headmaster at an international school in China. Over his 28 years teaching, he has held teaching and leadership positions in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, China and Yorkshire. Stuart is also an ISI Inspector.
Stuart has a background in maths teaching, ICT and data analysis. Besides teaching, he spends much of his school day overseeing whole school events, working on policies, arranging cover, liaising with senior schools, and writing school timetables. A keen distance runner, he takes the school cross country team. Outside school, he enjoys spending time with his wife and twin children, tinkering on computers, running, and assisting his wife with her dog home boarding business in Easingwold.

Katie grew up in West Yorkshire and was educated at Leeds Girls' High School (now GSAL). She went on to study a range of her favourite subjects (Classics, French and Italian) at Durham University, where she attended the College of St. Hild and St. Bede. Prior to joining Terrington in 2019 as teacher of Latin, Katie worked as Head of Classics at Epsom College and as Teacher of Latin and French at Woldingham School, both highly successful independent schools in Surrey.
Katie currently teaches Latin, Greek, French and History to pupils in Upper Prep, but also enjoys getting involved with all aspects of Performing Arts within school, be it assisting with productions or providing piano accompaniment for our school choirs, church services and individual pupil performances in exams, recitals and concerts. Katie is passionate about providing a breadth of opportunities for the pupils at Terrington Hall and is instrumental in driving forward our co-curricular programme and introducing new whole school initiatives, such as the new House system and the ‘ad astra' programme.
Katie's two daughters are pupils at Terrington and her hobbies include classical singing, cooking, hiking and attending spinning and fitness classes.
