Andrew Livett

Andrew is a Chartered Physiotherapist who qualified from Kings College London in 2017. He is registered with the Health Care Professionals Council and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. He also qualified in Personal Training and has completed further training in Strength and Conditioning and recovery from strenuous exercise. His early career started completing rotations at Southend and Basildon Hospital in Neurology, Intensive care, Respiratory and Musculo-Skeletal Physiotherapy before becoming a Senior Physiotherapist in MSK. While working in the NHS, Andrew began developing skills in the sports industry working in Professional Tennis at Wimbledon Tennis Tournament and more locally in several rugby clubs. An abrupt change of course due to lockdown caused him to return to the NHS and complete another 18 months working in Critical care with Covid-19 patients and working on the rehabilitation of patients who had been on ventilators. At the end of the lockdown, he went back to working in private practice. Andrew now works at Benfleet Physiotherapy, where he is able to assess and treat a wide variety of MSK, Neurological and respiratory conditions. He is practised in:

Conor Clifford

Conor is a sports rehabilitation specialist with a particular interest in movement analysis, preventive surgical rehabilitation and post surgical rehabilitation. Conor graduated in 2013 from Middlesex University with a Degree in Sport and Exercise Rehabilitation. Conor worked at Queen's Park Rangers Football Academy for two seasons then moved onto Tottenham Hotspur's Academy. During his time there he was part of a team who were responsible for treating injured athletes, taking them through their stages of rehab and getting back to playing as soon as possible. Conor worked alongside the strength and conditioning team to put in preventative protocols/training methods to reduce the risk of common injuries, which the team still use today. Conor has also worked with other athletes such as British judo fighters, professional footballers and tennis' GB athlete Liam Broady (Ranked 5th in the UK) in his build up to Wimbledon in 2022. Conor's specialist treatments include: Biomechanics for posture, gait and sports performance and chronic injuries Preventive rehabilitation methods for knee arthritis and knee degeneration or chronic lower limb pain Gait analysis Management methods of chronic fatigue syndrome, long Covid, fibromyalgia or chronic pain Pre & Post surgical rehabilitation Chronic Shoulder and back pain. Dannielle Lewis

Dannielle is a physiotherapist who is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). She obtained a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy degree from King's College London in 2017, and also received awards for best overall student performance and best performance on clinical placement. Once qualified, Dannielle completed her junior rotations at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in London. Here she gained skills and experience in various disciplines including musculoskeletal outpatients, orthopaedics, paediatric intensive care, amputees, neurology and stroke, and elderly care. Dannielle was then promoted to a specialised musculoskeletal physiotherapist and worked in this role for 2 years. She has also developed and delivered lectures to physiotherapy students at King's College London. Dannielle now works privately at Benfleet Physiotherapy full time. She can assess and treat a range of conditions and patients including those that are musculoskeletal and neurological in nature, for falls prevention, strength and conditioning maintenance, and amputee rehabilitation. Dannielle is able to deliver shockwave therapy, manual therapy, electrotherapy, sports and kinesiology taping, sports massage, exercise prescription, acupuncture and other adjuncts. She can arrange for MRI's and x-rays, as well as onward referral for surgery where clinically appropriate. Dannielle has an interest in Pilates and has completed her APPI Matwork Level One course, allowing her to complete 1:1 Pilates sessions and prescribe tailored Pilates programmes. Jamie Holden

Jamie is a Chartered Physiotherapist who graduated from the University of East London in 2020. After graduating, Jamie worked as a rotational physiotherapist at Whipps Cross Hospital in East London. As this was during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, most of his rotations were centred around Critical Care, ICU and Respiratory, however, he also completed rotations in Medical Care and MSK. While completing his rotations, Jamie started branching into the sporting side of physiotherapy, joining Leyton Orient FC as a pitch side physiotherapist and gaining experience in sporting events, such as the London Marathon and Wimbledon Tennis Tournament. In September 2021, Jamie left the NHS and worked as the Under 18s Physiotherapist at Leyton Orient FC for 1 season before joining Millwall FC in 2022 as the Head of Academy Sports Science and Medicine. During his 2-season tenure, Jamie's role was to manage and implement the provision of medical care for over 130 athletes throughout the Academy, looking after players from the Under 21s to the Under 9s. During his years in an elite sports environment, Jamie developed a deep understanding of injury management and rehabilitation from its acute stage to retuning to play. He was also responsible for organising diagnostic imaging (MRIs, CTs etc.) for injured players, and subsequent consultations and surgeries if needed. During his time with Millwall, Jamie also worked privately as an MSK physiotherapist to expand his skills beyond football, working with patients with conditions such as:

Joe Maxwell

Joe is another member of our multidisciplinary treating team. He has a Sports Therapy degree and holds BTEC in Sports Science and has been with us since 2008. Joe was a keen swimmer and spent his years prior to University as a swim coach / teacher. He has competed at Great Britain standard, and has also represented the British Colleges. He also has a passion for boxing / rugby and has represented the British Colleges Team while at University of Kent. Once Joe had finished university, he worked in several clinical environments, all offering unique and diverse knowledge and experience. He has worked with a variety of professional and semi-professional football and rugby clubs, dance and performing arts schools and colleges Over the years Joe has and still does work with both sporting injuries and neurological injuries. Being one of the few therapists in the country trained to use our REX Bionic Suit system, Joe can apply his knowledge in strength and conditioning and functional movements with rehabilitation in the REX suit His specific interests in the gym include instructing those who wish to increase muscle mass, muscle endurance, circuit training and all round fitness. He is very passionate about functional movement patterns and applying exercises to improve how someone moves, weather its for athletes or for the everyday individual. Joe also provides and oversees specific rehabilitation programmes for a variety of general and sporting injuries. Being part of the team for over 12 years has given him a wealth of knowledge and understanding in assessing and treating an extremely vast clientele, including all types of injuries. This experience and education has given him the tools and the know how to confidently assess, diagnose and treat an individual's injury or pain. Over his 14 years' experience, he has treated a huge variety patients suffering from severe brain injury, to post operation; soft tissue / muscular tendon or ligament injury; sports injuries; bad backs; bad necks; sciatica; muscle imbalances; sprains & strains; plantar fasciitis; disc injuries; joint pain and the odd rub down for prevention - that is to name but a few.

Kim MacLeod

Kim Macleod is a highly experienced Chartered Psychologist who has worked in the NHS and in private practice for many years. She is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, a Chartered member of the Division of Counselling and Coaching Psychology and is HCPC registered. Kim specialises in helping people to come to terms with and manage long-term conditions such as chronic pain, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and diabetes. She also has extensive experience in working with personal injury, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), adjustment disorders, depression, anxiety disorders, low self-esteem and bereavement. She uses therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).

Lyn Hopkins

Lyn is one of our receptionists , she will be your first contact either by phone or email. She will assist you and guide you to the most appropriate member of staff for your treatment. If you have any questions or queries please feel free to contact her and she will endeavour to answer those as quickly as possible. Lyn has always been interested in sport and well being. She has ran 9 London Marathons and numerous other city centre marathons, she has a Sports Psychology Diploma and has Level 2 coaching qualification in Athletics.

Matt McKenzie

Matt has worked at Benfleet Physiotherapy as a fully qualified fitness instructor since 2006, holding a Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification. He has also obtained a BTEC National Diploma in Sports Science and a HND in Sports Studies . He is trained in Emergency First Aid/CPR and Automatic External Defibrillation Matt also works alongside the Physiotherapists to provide training programmes for clients as part of their injury rehabilitation process and also works with clients with complex conditions such as Parkinsons disease, TBi, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, MSA etc, using state of the art and innovative equipment and is trained in Motomed, GigerMD, Alter G Anti-Gravity treadmill, Medicotech Balance machine , providing suitable and safe fitness programmes for clients need and capabilities.

Nigel Kimpton

Nigel is Clinical Director of Benfleet Physiotherapy, a multi-disciplinary clinic , leading a team of Musculoskeletal and Neurological Physiotherapists, Sport Injury Scientists, Speech & Language Therapist, Clinical Psychologist, Chiropodist & Podiatrist, Soft Tissue Specialist and Massage Therapist, Gym and experienced Rehabilitation staff. Nigel has been a Physiotherapist for over 30 years. He is a State Registered Physiotherapist with the Health & Care Professions Council (PH 75875), he is also a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP 078202) and a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists interested in Neurology ( MCSPIN)

Ray Lim

Mr. Lim qualified in 1999 at the London Foot Hospital (University College London), and graduated with an honours degree in podiatric medicine. He later achieved a diploma in sports massage at the London School of Sports Massage (Regents Park). Mr Lim then worked as a member of a medical team on the NHS from 1999 - 2005. From 2005-2007 Mr. Lim moved on to work as part of the medical team for Tottenham Hotspur FC as a sports masseuse and podiatrist for the first team squad before going on to pursue private practice in 2007-date. His expert knowledge means that he can offer help for everything from diabetic foot care, ingrown nails and soft tissue injuries. The aim of his procedures is not to just treat the symptoms of your foot problems but to also treat the cause. Mr. Lim's help extends further then his podiatry and massage sessions as he also provides friendly and quality advice that his patients can use at home, ensuring that you have long-term or permanent relief from foot pain and general soft tissue problems. Mr Lim is a member of the society of chiropodists and podiatrists www.feetforlife.org/, and also a member of the Health Professions Council (HPC) www.hpc-uk.org/ Mr Lim runs a busy practice which currently maintains the foot health for 7 large care homes, professional sportsman (Southend United Football Club & Southend Saxons Rugby Club) and the general public. Mr Lim does not have a waiting list (as some practitioners like to have) and will always try to accommodate every patient, extending clinical hours if need be.
