Afua Ofori-Darko

Afua Ofori-Darko joined Carlton Hodges in July 2019 to broaden the research arm of the company. She graduated with a Law with a Year Abroad LLB degree from the University of Leicester and was then employed in the University's Careers service. After this, she moved to London and took up a client-facing and wholesale position with a luxury sports brand. Afua assists with roles across the insurance market, including broking, underwriting, claims and business development.

Alison O'Connor - Founder

Alison O'Connor is the founding director of Carlton Hodges. She graduated from Leeds University with a BA Hons in History. After a brief spell in HR with ICI she moved into the executive search industry with a boutique insurance headhunting company, Dixon Delves & Andrews where she led the research unit. In 2000 she joined Korn Ferry International as a Senior Associate within the insurance team. Alison moved into the insurance industry itself in 2004 with Beazley PLC where she led its global recruitment strategy, establishing in-house search capability. At Beazley she assisted in both growing the existing business in London, as well as entering new product lines and geographies through attracting leading individuals in each market. She focuses on senior roles within the general insurance market across underwriting, claims, risk management and broking.

Carly McNamara

Carly McNamara joined Carlton Hodges in a research capacity in July 2012. She graduated from the University of Wolverhampton in 2009 with a BA Hons degree in Film Studies. Shortly after graduating, she joined Royal Bank of Scotland within the Credit Management Services division, where she remained until moving to London in late 2010 to undertake a client support role at a post-production film company. Carly is responsible for research at Carlton Hodges and has gained experience across underwriting, broking, claims, operations, business development and loss adjusting.
