My first step is to evaluate you by playing a game of chess. I do this so that I can see where you are already strong and also where you need some guidance. If you are a brand new player I will start by teaching you the basics, and then we will start doing games at a rate that fits your skill level. I have been playing chess since the age of 12. In high school I started playing tournaments . After years of playing and competing I decided to start teaching. I began my teaching career as a volunteer coach at local middle and high schools, and then shortly after started teaching private lessons. I decided to make chess coaching my career because I love playing and teaching chess, and I've been told that I'm a skilled but patient instructor. For many years I mainly worked with middle and high schoolers, but I started expanding my coaching of adults a few years ago. I have currently coached people between the ages of 5 and 93...
