Rohtas Mahila College, Sasaram is the brain child of the then DM Mr. S.P. N. Sinha who made herculean effort to mobilize the educationists, businessman, beaurourrats, intellectuals and prominent citizens of the locality to a single platform to deal with the issues emerging out of the alarming rate illiteracy among the girls of the region. During the deliberation a consensus was emerged among them that the only remedy to this growing menace is to set up an institution catering to their interest who are largely marginalized and no longer contribute significantly for the betterment of society for want of formal education.
