Christie Bielmeier is a mechanical engineer with 20 years of industry experience designing UAVs, space robotics, and sensors for NASA, NRL, Aurora Flight Sciences, and PinnaclX. Bielmeier's cutting-edge research uses finite element analysis (FEA) to analyze composite aero-structures for NASA's Helios Pathfinder, Hubble Space Telescope, and Mars Flyer. Her surveillance UAVs maintain the Northeast power grid for Eversource and provide battlefield intelligence for soldiers in Afghanistan. Her dissertation measured the bite resistance of fabrics for the development of non-toxic military uniforms. Currently, Christie is a senior Lecturer at Boston University teaching product design.
