Capital Area Community Services, Inc. is a Community Action Agency. CACS is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 1964. CACS was born from President Lyndon B. Johnson's War on Poverty and the advocacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr... CACS is able to serve our community because of local support like yours! Your donation makes it possible for individuals and families living in Mid-Michigan to reach their goals... CACS works toward eliminating the causes and conditions of poverty in Ingham, Eaton, Clinton, and Shiawassee Counties by providing programs in childhood education, nutrition, weatherization, housing, and financial counseling. Our ultimate goal is to provide the services and support for individuals to achieve their own definition of success and quality of life. We are proud to have served 18,076 people in the Mid-Michigan area during 2020.
