Allan Gallagher - Founder

Allan Gallagher's experience with strategic alliances is the foundation of LANZ. As a Lawyer in private practice for forty-plus years, a past member of the LawLink Group Limited, Co-founder and original Director of NZ Law Limited, the owner/manager of Law Library Consortium Limited, and also the Founder and originating Chairman and Managing Director of Law Alliance NZ Limited, all of the referred groups being significant alliances of Law Firms from throughout New Zealand, Allan Gallagher has significant experience in regards to syndicated procurement of product and services, in addition to the marshaling of common interest by Law Firms who wish to work together to secure increased work-life outcome as a result of their collective association. Allan maintains a strong role in the marshaling of resources for LANZ, acts as a legal 'think tank' to the alliance, and has the practical expertise to make ongoing advancements for the group.

Don is a devoted husband and father. Married to Lynda (together over 33 years) and have three beautiful children Michael (Structural Engineer), Elora (Artist with an interest in the law), and Toby (dreaming of football and cricket, loves learning Te Reo and Accounting). A dedicated professional with excellent interpersonal qualities, communications skills, creative ideas, and leadership strengths. He is a responsible and committed team player who makes a substantial contribution through effective relationship building and efficient control of resources working with a range of professionals to build rapport, trust, and confidence. He enjoys working with people and exercises loyalty, self-motivation, and a willingness to take responsibility for achieving results. Don has qualifications in law, political science, and international relations and 25 years of business management and latterly legal practice. His firm has recently merged with Tripe Matthews Feist to form Battah Davie Maskell Lawyers or BDM Lawyers. His community activities include the work of Rotary, Victim Support, and the Wellington Free Ambulance. He is Chair of the Wellington Region Victim Support Local Group Committee and was voted onto the National Board of Victim Support in 2012. He is past President of the Eastern Hutt Rotary Club, past Assistant Governor for Rotary District 9940, and is a Paul Harris Fellow. Don's eclectic interests include technology, most sport, cinema, concerts, dramatic arts, travel and generally enjoying life to the full.

Julius Maskell

Julius was a commercial partner at Tripe Matthews Feist in Wellington. Tripe Matthews Feist have recently merged with Keesing McLeod to form Battah Davie Maskell Lawyers or BDM Lawyers. Julius graduated from Victoria University of Wellington in 2005 with an LLB and BSc majoring in Chemistry. Julius has a strong customer service background and has been in general practice since his admission in 2006. He joined Tripe Matthews Feist in 2011 and became a Partner of the firm in 2015. Julius currently specializes in Unit Titles, Construction Law, and working with not-for-profit community organizations. He also has experience with trusts, wills, probates and estates, contracts, residential and commercial conveyancing, employment, commercial property, relationship property, alternative dispute resolution, and arbitration.

Kieran is a director of Braun Bond and Lomas (BBL Lawyers), a specialist litigation firm based in Hamilton. He became a director of the firm in 2016. Kieran has a broad range of experience in all areas of dispute resolution and has been involved in litigation at all levels including large-scale litigation involving multi-national corporate entities and cross-border litigation. Kieran has gained significant experience in construction litigation, which continues to be a large part of his practice. After 10 years of experience in the administration of a successful regional sports club, Kieran also has a particular interest in sports law including administrative and disciplinary issues at all levels of the sport. Away from the law, Kieran is married to Jaime, and they have a son together. When he finds the time, you'll find him looking for lost balls on a golf course, pretending he is still fit enough to play football or enjoying some quality time with friends and family. Kieran was elected to the Board in late 2021.

Oakley Moran

Oakley Moran is a small general firm of highly experienced practitioners with particular emphasis in areas of employment, local government, civil litigation, and property work. Oakley Moran is the successor to a series of Lower Hutt and Wellington legal practices whose origins can be traced back over 100 years. The present firm has its origins in the merger in January 1986 of the former firms of Hogg, Gillespie, Carter, and Oakley (who practiced both at Lower Hutt and Wellington) and Goddard, Moran, and Finlayson (who practiced in Wellington). The present firm was formed on 1 April 2018.

Peter Cranney

Before becoming a lawyer, Peter had a long and extensive association with Unions in various roles as an organizer, editor of union newspaper, negotiator/advocate, administrator, and researcher. Peter has been a partner of Oakley Moran since 2002 and has more than 15 years of legal experience. Peter's interests include cricket.

Peter Jefferies is the current Chair of Law Alliance NZ Limited. Peter has a long history with LANZ and it's Executive. He was first elected to the Executive of LANZ in October 2010 and has acted as Chair, Secretary and Treasurer before stepping down in 2019.
