Mr. Shoffner practices in the areas of commercial leasing, real estate related litigation, and provides assistance to Racine & Associates in public pension litigation. He is a past Chairman of the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan; member of the Section's Council since 2000; past Chairman of the Executive Committee on Commercial Leasing; former member of the State Bar of Michigan's Publications and Website Advisory Committee; co-author of Michigan Lease Drafting and Landlord-Tenant Law and author of numerous articles on commercial leasing for the Michigan Real Property Review and Michigan Bar Journal; a frequent speaker on commercial lease enforcement; past Chairman of the Executive Committee for the Institute for Continuing Legal Education and a member of its Real Estate Advisory Board and member since 1998. Mr. Shoffner has been named a Super Lawyer since 2012 by Super Lawyer Magazine for his business and real estate litigation prowess.

In December 2015, Marie Racine celebrated her 30th anniversary in the practice of law and of the founding of her law firm.
