Stable Thermophilic Anaerobic Digestion creates Methane gas from organic matter which can then be burnt at source to power CHP engines, which can generate electricity, for site use or can be connected to the electricity grid. It can also be used to fuel biogas boilers to provide heat. Alternatively the methane gas can be scrubbed and adjusted to ensure it is of the correct calorific value to then be injected directly into the gas grid. Correctly run and set up plants can utilise all of our current unwanted organic waste which helps relieve the pressure of landfill. The ability to capture CO2 is available and this gas can be used in greenhouse projects to accelerate the growth of crops thus reducing the carbon footprint.
