My law enforcement career began in 1995 when I was hired as a Correctional Counselor in the California Youth Authority. It was during this time period that I began to grasp and understand the need to utilize rehabilitative and enforcement efforts as a means to provide our communities with a safer environment. I was able to work with and around a diverse group of individuals who planted a seed for my success in becoming a law enforcement professional and leader.
