Brendan Reid

Job Titles:
  • Senior Research Scientist
Brendan completed his PhD in 2018 at Queen's University Belfast, working on ultracold atomic dynamics and quantum thermodynamics. After a brief postdoctoral position at the University of Southern California Los Angeles focused on quantum annealing algorithms, he spent over 3 years working on quantum error correction. Now, with QEC as his main focus, Brendan is interested in the design of Clifford circuits and maximising qubit utility, and making decoding algorithms faster and more accurate. He spends the bulk of his free time reading sci-fi and fantasy novels, or playing Baldur's Gate 3 and feeling guilty that he isn't reading sci-fi and fantasy novels.

Ewan Munro - CTO, Founder

Ewan is a theoretical physicist with a strong interest in algorithms, benchmarking, and product building. He enjoys travel, reading, and real ales. Ewan has a Master's in Mathematical Physics from the University of Edinburgh, and a PhD in Physics from the Centre for Quantum Technologies at the National University of Singapore. He was also a visiting scientist at the Institute for Photonic Sciences (ICFO) in Barcelona. As CTO, Ewan leads Entropica's technical strategy, working with our team to design and build products and workflows, as well as engaging in customer projects.

Ezequiel Rodriguez Chiacchio

Job Titles:
  • Hardware Team Lead
Ezequiel completed his PhD at University of Cambridge, where he worked on open quantum systems and quantum optics. At Entropica, he spends his time exploring the capabilities of quantum hardware and how to smoothly integrate it with our software. In his free time, he can be found at the dance studio, attending a live music event, or searching for the best coffee spot in town.

Jing Hao Chai

Job Titles:
  • Head of Quantum Error Correction
Jing Hao's active research field is in Fault-tolerant Quantum computing, and is interested in developments involving noise and errors, as well as quantum technology developments (hardware). In his spare time, he likes to play games: a small current list include titles like Minecraft, Oxygen Not Included, Genshin Impact, Diablo 4, Stardew Valley.

Kilian Poirier

Job Titles:
  • Quantum Software Developer
Kilian has a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne), and completed his thesis between CQT and EPFL. His curiosity ranges from nanoscale electronics to machine learning and optimization including quantum information and computing. Outside of work he enjoys playing the guitar, listening to music but also bouldering. As part of the integration process he was peer-pressured into writing in the third person.

Leonardo Disilvestro

Job Titles:
  • Head of Research and Development
In the previous decade, Leonardo has graduated as a theoretical physicist from the University of Edinburgh, managed to earn himself a Ph.D. in quantum information theory from Telecom ParisTech, and has successfully learned how to code and be a programmer. He is pretty pleased with the way things have turned so far, so he has decided to become a proper quantum scientist, and now he enjoys working at Entropica labs while busking in Singapore's tropical climate. In his free time, he likes to cook, walk his dog, and train for the next marathon. Oh, he also apparently likes to write in third person.

Long My

Job Titles:
  • Senior Research Scientist
Long completed his PhD in 2023 at Centre for Quantum Technologies in Singapore, working on quantum error correction and fault tolerance. At Entropica, he works in the Science team to design fault-tolerant quantum circuits. In his free time, he likes reading about math and science in general, cycling for sight-seeing, and playing simulation games.

Luca Vignaroli

Luca is formerly trained in CPU and IC design, but developed as strong software generalist and a technology enthusiast who enjoys the challenges found in engineering reliable, maintainable, scalable and well documented systems. He has been working with companies all around the world as a software engineer, systems administrator and infrastructure architect for over 2 decades. He has both a fierce passion for small details and a visionary outlook on future technologies. His eternal quest is finding the practical middle ground between these opposing forces!

Navneeth Ramakrishnan

Job Titles:
  • Senior Research Scientist
Navneeth completed his undergraduate and master's degrees at the National University of Singapore and his PhD at Imperial College London. He is interested in classical and quantum information theory, cryptography and error-correction. At Entropica, he is part of the Science Team and investigates different approaches to quantum error correction and scalable approaches to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computers. In his spare time, he enjoys watching Formula 1, hiking and doomscrolling on his phone!

Nicola Pellegrini

Job Titles:
  • Senior Software and Systems Engineer
Nicola is a long time technology enthusiast, who enjoys coding and building things from scratch. Self-taught, his curiosity and past experiences helped him achieve a solid grasp in many areas of information technology. At Entropica, he's working as software developer and systems engineer. He has many hobbies and in his free time he enjoys maintaining his complex homelab, playing videogames, studying electronics and more. Also, from time to time he secretly tries to play the guitar, but don't tell anyone!

Nur Shahidee

From designing websites to designing software, Shahidee's experience in the world of programming started from a young age. Driven by his curiosity, a willingness to hone his craft and a desire to turn his imagination into reality, he began to participate in hackathons and data science competitions during his freshman year in university. After pursuing a degree in Physics at NUS, he joined Entropica Labs as a Quantum Developer focusing on Software Development and Design. His unwavering optimism and a great sense of humour make for a great personality to be around.

Paolo Calloni

Shao Hen Chiew

Hailing from Kuala Lumpur, Shao Hen is a quantum computing scientist at Entropica Labs. He holds Master's degrees in Physics (from the National University of Singapore) and engineering (from Mines Paris-PSL), with a strong research interest at the intersection of quantum computing, quantum information, and many-body physics. During his free time, he enjoys cooking, reading and rock climbing.

Tommaso Demarie - CEO, Founder

Tommaso Demarie is the co-founder and CEO of Entropica Labs. He holds a PhD in quantum information theory from Macquarie University and has extensive experience in the field of quantum computing. Before starting Entropica, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at SUTD and Singapore's Centre for Quantum Technologies. In his current role at Entropica, Tommaso is responsible for the company's business strategy, product development, investor relations, and customer acquisition. He is passionate about building a world-class team to accelerate the arrival of useful quantum computers. When he's not working, Tommaso enjoys practicing yoga, reading about philosophy, psychology, history, and science, and indulging in Singapore's awe-inspiring culinary scene. He is also a certified sommelier and a competitive chess player (ELO: 1750).

Ulrike Bornheimer

Ulrike is a physicist with degrees from Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main, Germany and the Center of Quantum Technologies, Singapore. She has special interests in both the very small (quantum physics) and the very large (general relativity). She enjoys software development and the possibilities it offers to solve difficult problems. For inspiration she engages in horse riding and plays Ultimate Frisbee and the ukulele. Just as Leo, she likes to write about herself in third person.

Virginia Fernández

Virginia, hailing from Spain and now living in Singapore, has always had a passion for exploring the world and immersing herself in diverse cultures. Her adventures have taken her from the bustling streets of Shanghai and Jakarta to the vibrant landscapes of Uganda and Belgium. As a mother of three, she infuses this love of global exploration into her family life, sharing with her children the passion for travelling and enjoying. In her professional life, Virginia brings over 15 years of experience in consulting, business development and finance. Her journey includes being an early team member of a fast-growing tech startup, where she played a crucial role in its expansion and efficiency improvement. This experience, coupled with her living in various international locations, and working in different industries and type of companies, has given her a unique perspective on business growth and cultural adaptability.

Vishal Sharma

Vishal is currently responsible for the development of Entropica's open-source offering, OpenQAOA. Prior to joining Entropica Labs, he worked in a Quantum Optics Laboratory at ENS, Paris. Vishal received his formal education in Engineering and Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India and at the Ludwig Maximilians Universität Munich, Germany respectively.

Yorgos Sotiropoulos

Yorgos was born and raised in Greece where he completed his BSc in Physics. He continued his scientific journey at TU Delft, where he did his Master's in the general direction of Applied Physics with a specialization in Quantum Computing. At Entropica Labs he's developing research software tools and working along the lines of Quantum Error Correction and Fault-Tolerance. In his free time he likes working out and watching the silliest, most random videos on Youtube. He enjoys being with his friends or trying to make new ones. He attempts to make jokes non-stop, such that he eventually has some funny quotes thanks to the size of the sample.
