ESSENTIAL MD - Key Persons

EssentialMD is a PRIMARY CARE practice that is the solution for all your primary care health and wellness needs. It was founded by Dr. Jonathan McGhee, M.D. in August of 2018. Dr. McGhee is a 2007 graduate of Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. He completed a Family Medicine residency training at the University of Oklahoma at Tulsa in June 2010. He then completed a fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine in June 2011. While a young physician, he spent countless hours moonlighting as a hospitalist and emergency room physician, gaining extra expertise in caring for sick people. He desires to prevent illness and maintain health. His personal goal is to keep his patients out of the hospital, as much as their bodies will allow it. Dr. McGhee is married to his college sweetheart, Cindy McGhee. They have been blessed with two children: a son - Jonathan Jr and a daughter - Jaden. In his spare time, you can often find Dr. McGhee spending time with his family, traveling, or playing basketball.
