In 2019, we officially launched The Nest, our toddler program, and were thrilled to witness our roots grow stronger as our community grew. Then, we were hit with the pandemic. Following, Amber and her family moved to New York. At the time, I wrestled with a number of questions related to my work. I realized pretty quickly that, while facing an unknown future, I remained certain of my desire to serve the young child. I focused my efforts on The Nest, and after being compelled to move my program outdoors on account of Covid, I discovered a new passion for nature-based education. The Montessori philosophy of respect for self and the environment lent itself well to the outdoor classroom, and it seems rather obvious now that The Montessori Tree was meant to take root outdoors... We settled on the name "The Montessori Tree" for two reasons.
