Beau M. Barrett

Beau joined Merrill Lynch in 1998, eventually becoming a Vice President and Wealth Advisor. He began working with Martin Rice and Janet Lasiter in 2004, while developing his technical expertise in allocation modeling, wealth forecasting, lending solutions, insurance and investment strategies. He holds a number of investment and insurance accreditations, as well as the designations CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®). He earned a B.A. from Wabash College with a major in Psychology and double minor in English and Philosophy.

Martin W. Rice

Martin holds an M.S. in agricultural economics from Purdue University and a B.S. in agricultural business from Middle Tennessee State University. He has a unique background that includes not only trading floor experience at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, but also over a decade in agribusiness. This culminated in a role overseeing the launch of ground-breaking genetically modified corn hybrids, the first of their kind in the company and in the industry as a whole.

Taryn I. Rice is an Administrative Partner with RiceBarrett Family Wealth, focusing on fostering relationships with client families, coordinating client events and coordinating administrative and cash management functions. Though Taryn joined the team in 2023, her personal and professional history has long been intertwined with RiceBarett Family Wealth. Growing up, she watched her father, Martin Rice, build the practice alongside Beau Barrett. Later, working as a nurse at a Metropolitan Level 1 Trauma Center, she treated the family members of many RiceBarrett clients. Her time in the emergency room deepened her compassion for the human experience, while instilling exceptional communication, multitasking and prioritization skills. These practical abilities, combined with her unique personal connection and commitment to those she works with, allow her to anticipate and serve client needs with proficiency. Beyond her professional endeavors, Taryn enjoys spending time baking and traveling with her family and friends. A firm believer in the importance of giving back to the community, she is actively involved with the Isaiah 117 House in Boone County, where she volunteers to help provide safe shelter and a loving environment to children who are awaiting foster care.
