In residential mortgage industry the broker price opinions are needed for - loan refinancing, HELOC, loan modification, PMI removal, cash out, home improvement loans, short sales, auctions, foreclosures, etc...
Licensed salespersons could also complete broker co-signed BPOs. The N.A.R Code of Ethics contains provisions for REALTORS® to complete CMAs and to prepare opinions of real property value or price. Residential valuations (BPOs, CMAs, and appraisals) serve the needs of home sellers and home buyers as well.
