Irwin Burchell's motto "Plant good trees on good land. Take care of them and they will take care of you" is the genesis of Burchell Nursery's ongoing philanthropic efforts locally, nationally and globally.
For over 75 years the Burchell Nursery has been donating trees to various civic and charitable organizations. The donated trees are helping to sustain the communities where they have been planted providing nutritious food for those who are underserved with little or no access to fresh fruits.
Master Sgt. Patricia Marsano coordinated with local Iraqi civilians to make this project a reality. American companies contributed to the gesture with generous donations. Burchell Nursery supplied the plants, while the California Rare Fruit Growers coordinated the effort, and FedEx shipped the plants to Camp Anaconda.
