Camelina is an oleaginous plant known since the Bronze Age. It belongs to the Brassicaceae (or Cruciferous) family with more than 300 genus of plants such as Rape, Canola and Mustard. From its seeds a fine oil, rich in vegetal polyunsaturated fatty acid, is extracted. Camelina oil is composed by Omega-3 (ALA alpha linolenic acid) and Omega-6 (alpha linoleic acid) in the excellent ratio of 2:1, it naturally contains vitamin E (or tocopherol) that is a great source of antioxidants.
