In Matthew 25:40, Jesus tells a parable, saying, "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." Our legal professionals believe that we follow Christ's lead in this by helping our clients put 1 Timothy 5 into practice: "Do not rebuke an older man, but encourage him as you would a father. Treat younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, and younger women as sisters." "If anyone does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith" (verses 1-2a & 8). Even Jesus took steps to ensure someone would take care of his family after he had died, risen, and ascended to his Father's side: "When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, ‘Woman, behold your son!' Then he said to the disciple, ‘Behold, your mother!' And from that hour, the disciple took her to his own home" (John 19:26).
