BAKER COLLEGE FOR WOMEN

Baker College for Women, Kottayam was established in 2014 as part of the Bicentenary celebrations commemorating the arrival of CMS missionaries in Kerala. The college is a tribute to three generations of women educators of the Baker family. Amelia Dorothea Baker, wife of Rev. Henry Baker (Sr.), lit the lamp of Women's education in India when she educated six girls at her residence in 1820. Baker Institutions of the Diocese are visible testimonies of the concern and efforts of the Diocese towards empowerment of women through education... Education at Baker, is focused towards Academic excellence, Cultural sensitivity, Environmental adaptability and Community outreach. The College welcomes young women, to transform themselves and their world.
