Over the past four decades, Chef Umeda has been developing his own unique style in the culinary arts. He first developed his techniques back in Japan where he learned under traditional Japanese sushi chefs. He then moved overseas to London first and then to Los Angeles where he continued to hone his skills and create his very own taste under master chefs like Nobu Matsuhisa. In 2016, Chef Umeda opened his first restaurant on Melrose Avenue. His distinct menu there reflected his love for traditional Japan and his creativity fueled by his knowledge of foreign culinary practices that he acquired working overseas.
