Brian Flannery - Chief Strategy Officer

Brian Flannery has significant experience in auditing and consulting practice, qualifying as a chartered accountant with Deloitte before taking on several senior positions with Deloitte and KPMG across Europe. Prior to joining FLI in 2016, Brian worked as a Finance Director for Liberty Mutual, and Siemens Ireland - in these positions he was heavily involved in several strategic transformation projects in addition to taking the lead on HR. Brian is responsible for strategy development and several special projects.

Daniel Blanchfield

Daniel Blanchfield serves as the Group Sustainability Manager at FLI Group. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise in sustainable development and engineering to the role. Daniel holds a MSc in Sustainable Development (2017) and a B Eng in Automotive Technology and Management (2014). His early career in Ireland included significant contributions to policy development on environmental and climate change issues while working with the Government Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment. This foundational experience in public policy laid the groundwork for his commitment to driving sustainable practices across various sectors. In his most recent role with a long-established Irish tech company, Daniel was instrumental in formulating and implementing a comprehensive sustainability strategy. His work involved engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to foster a culture of sustainability, ensuring that sustainable practices were deeply embedded within the organizational ethos. As a member of the senior management team at FLI Global, Daniel leverages his engineering expertise and sustainability knowledge to support the global growth and expansion of our environmental services and technologies businesses. Sustainability is a cornerstone of the FLI Group culture, and Daniel's role is pivotal in helping our clients achieve their sustainability targets, reinforcing our commitment to environmental stewardship and social responsibility.

Michael J. Flynn - Founder

Michael J. Flynn founded the company in 1989 and remains the majority shareholder of the group. He has spent most of his working life leading the company from a specialist geosynthetics solutions provider in Ireland, UK, the continent and around the world, to the multi-faceted group that FLI is today. Michael is a leader, a risk taker, a motivator and a strong believer in personal development, team building and knowledge transfer. He has built a strong diversified company and a strong management team. In 2012 he appointed a group CEO to complement the existing management team and to lead the company in the next chapter of its growth and development. Michael's original 3rd level education is in electronic engineering but his early working career was as a project manager on geomembrane and geosynthetic installation projects globally, when working for Schlegel Lining Technology now GSE Environmental from 1983 to 1987. Michael is a member of the Ernst & Young Global Entrepreneurship Alumnus since 2006. In 2008/9 he completed a government sponsored leadership program run by Enterprise Ireland and led by Duke corporate education focused on scaling a business in the global market. In 2011 Michael achieved a diploma in international selling from DIT, Dublin. In February 2015 Michael graduated from University College Cork, Ireland with an MSc and First Class Honours in Personal and Management Coaching. Michaels interest in studying leadership and executive coaching reflects the growing awareness in the world of business globally of the importance of coaching for performance improvement in individuals and in leadership teams. Michael remains committed to promoting leadership and management development as an integral part of maximising performance and goal attainment in FLI and amongst business leaders across all industries.

Phil Stephenson

Phil Stephenson trained as a Chartered Accountant, before gaining experience across a variety of industries including nuclear, banking and education. In 1998 he moved into construction and has since developed specific and established expertise in this industry. Phil originally joined the business in 2003 to support Vertase FLI, overseeing its finance department. Since then, he has taken on the responsibility for other group companies including FLI Water and has supported extensively with key aspects of financial and commercial management. In 2018 Phil was appointed Group CFO and is now responsible for financial and commercial awareness across the group, in addition to managing the information systems of the group on a global scale.

Trevor Snell

Trevor Snell joined the FLI Group in 2015, have previously spent 25 years working in the foundation engineering sector. With a strong focus on the development of people, organisational structure and high performing teams, Trevor has supported the growth of the group. He has been involved in the acquisitions undertaken, the integration of those new business's into the existing structures and then their continued growth and development. In his role as Group Managing Director, Trevor works with the leadership teams in all the FLI Global Business Units to ensure the core values of the group, trust, openness, honesty, collaboration and innovation are the way things are done. Trevor continues the philosophy embedded by Michael around the development of people and their importance within all the business units.
