Jane Davies undertook a postgraduate qualification in the Conservation of Easel Paintings on the prestigeous Gateshead course, prior to working for a large conservation company. She moved to the Royal College of Art and Victoria & Albert Museum to undertake a further post-graduate research degree in 1992. Jane worked for English Heritage, in the wall painting conservation department and for the architectural paint research section between 1994-96. Jane Davies set up as an independent consultant in 1996 to provide expert research services analysing decorative surfaces.
