James A. Prentice, III is the President, CEO of ACES and the Managing Member of BlackBird™ Energy, LLC. Mr. Prentice is a mechanical engineer with more than 30 years of commercial and military experience in the research, design and development of complex combustion and rocket propulsion systems. Prior to founding the Company, he founded and managed Hybrid Dynamics Aerospace Corporation, where he was responsible for the successful development of several injector flow systems and hybrid fuel rocket engines. From 1986 to 1994, Mr. Prentice served as President and CEO of Associated Sciences and Engineering, Inc., where he engaged in the full time research and testing of propulsion systems, with a specific focus on combustion chamber design and combustion stability. Mr. Prentice was a Special Operations Officer in the United States Marine Corps. He graduated from the U.S. Army Ordinance Missile and Munitions School and received additional formal training in missile and rocket technology at various military test centers, including Redstone Arsenal, China Lake Naval Weapons Test Center and White Sands Missile Range. Mr. Prentice is a published author in the fields of motor design and the elements of rocket propulsion.
