Widetronix is an early-stage venture spun out of Cornell University. Widetronix is actively collaborating with customers on defense, medical and industrial applications. The company has expertise in semiconductor design and fabrication, as well as ultra-low power electronics... Widetronix was founded by a passionate group of researchers focused on commercializing wide bandgap semiconductor materials and device technology. This expertise provided the foundation to begin, in 2008, to commercialize silicon carbide betavoltaics. The company has since transitioned to bringing to market ultra-low power sensors enabled by Widetronix's technology... Widetronix is based in Ithaca, New York, and was spun out of Cornell University's Spencer Research Group to commercialize betavoltaic power sources.
