I remember folks back in the 1970's saying the we had 50 years to address the rising temperatures in the ocean, which Exxon scientists had discovered in the 1960's. I'd say we're too late, because unless you can put the melting ice back in the icebox it isn't going to re-freeze. Our icebox is gone... According to the World Bank, as many as 19 million people-approximately 9 percent of the local population-will become displaced in North Africa by 2050 because of the climate crisis. And for people in the region, the destination of choice is Europe... Millions of people dependent on Himalayan snowmelt for water face a "very serious" risk of shortages this year after one of the lowest rates of snowfall, scientists warned Monday.
