SOS OF OHIO - Key Persons

Dave, Shelter

Job Titles:
  • Medical Lead
Dave started his career in animal care on accident. After graduating, he saw an ad on Craigslist for a job that simply stated "Work with dogs," and thought "that sounds nice." Little did he know that responding to that email would lead him to a veterinary assistant position at the Franklin County Dog Shelter where he would spend around 8 years in total. In between, he worked in animal husbandry at the Ohio State University's veterinary research department before landing back at the shelter, now as SOS' primary medical lead, heading the team that works at the Franklin County Dog Shelter. At home, he has 5 dogs, 4 cats, 2 birds, a tortoise, and two human children. He also does not know how he finds the time.
