Dennis Dunlap - President

Dunlap Construction's president has more than four decades in the construction industry under his belt. Since 1978 he has worked extensively as an entrepreneur growing Dunlap Construction's name and presence in the Western North Carolina community. He is highly competitive, dedicated, and goal-oriented and will work tirelessly to make sure the work associated with his name is nothing short of superior. Dennis works closely with owners, architects, engineers, and is also responsible for overseeing carpenters and subcontractors. His main goal is facilitating every project in a cost effective and time efficient manner. He loves nothing more than the smell of saw dust and the sound of screw guns in the morning, because that means progress. He estimates, he negotiates, and he even straps on a tool belt when he needs to. In his spare time, Dennis enjoys time at his family farm, and is an avid pilot and beekeeper. The company founder, Dennis Dunlap, is from Hendersonville, North Carolina. Dennis began his career in construction as a cabinet maker, and prides himself on starting the company from the ground up. Dennis has three daughters and six grandchildren. He is an avid beekeeper and pilot, and just recently made a transcontinental flight from coast to coast in his Stearman bi-plane. Outside of work, he enjoys time at his farm and lake house. The family farm is home to birthday parties, weddings, and a yearly Fourth of July extravaganza. Dennis is an active board member for the Seventh Avenue Advisory Committee, President of the Skyland Homeowners Association, and Co-Founder of the Western North Carolina Air Museum.

Jill Wallen - VP

Dunlap Construction's vice president has been working in the construction industry for almost twenty years. Jill was very instrumental in building the Company to where it is today. She takes pride in seeing that everyone at Dunlap Construction is carrying forth the Dunlap way - honesty, integrity and compassion for others. She oversees each project from start to finish, and is responsible for acquiring new business and maintaining client relations. Jill's responsibilities also include quality control, developing and maintaining project schedules, and coordinating all phases of construction. Jill's favorite part of a project is the sense of satisfaction she feels when handing over the keys to a brand new building that she was able see go from a dream on paper to a reality. A supporter of all things local, Jill is always willing to go the extra mile to contribute to her community. When Jill is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband Ray, and their sons, Bryce and Grayson.

Ray Wallen

Ray joined the Dunlap Construction team in 2005. With over seventeen years of experience in the construction industry, he has handled nearly every aspect of the construction process. Ray brings a wide-range of knowledge and an exceptional work ethic to the Dunlap Construction team. There is no short way of describing the plethora of responsibilities Ray handles, but his primary function is directing the day-to-day activities of our crew. As superintendent, a few of Ray's responsibilities include overseeing job site safety, scheduling, and coordination. He makes sure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and most importantly, with the safety of his crew and clients as a top priority. Not only does Ray supervise and help manage our crew, but he can often be found with tools in hand and a hardhat on. Ray is a hands-on guy and there is no task too big or too small. In his spare time Ray enjoys being with his family and friends and cheering for the Oakland Raiders and Duke Blue Devils.
