Emily Van Vleck

Job Titles:
  • Administrative Assistant
Emily - our administrative assistant - was born in Colorado but was raised in Sioux Center. She received her Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Dordt College (University) in 2016. Emily loves to let her creative juices flow, whether that be through graphic design or through silly and absurd congregational emails. When she's not behind the desk, Emily's hobbies include, but are not limited to, music and singing, going to movies, attending trivia nights, spending time with family and friends, disc golfing with her husband, and cheering on all her favorite Colorado sports teams. While Emily may be a woman of few words, she loves to lend a listening ear. Everyone has a story to tell and everyone deserves to be heard. She loves to hear how God has been faithful in the lives of those around her, through the trials and the triumphs, the joys and the sorrows.

Jeremy Van Genderen

Jeremy Van Genderen, the preaching and teaching pastor, grew up in Lynnville, IA. In 2002 he graduated from Northwestern College with a major in Religion. After graduation he married Jeanette and they have three children, Bree, Kara and Benjamin. Since then Jeremy has served churches throughout the Midwest in Lafayette, IN, Belvidere, IL, Cedar Rapids, IA, and Allison, IA. In 2014 Jeremy went to Western Theological Seminary and graduated with his M. Div. The whole Van Genderen family desires to help those around them grow into a deeper, more intimate, relationship with Jesus Christ. In fact that talking about the good news of Jesus Christ is Jeremy's favorite thing to do. There is nothing more powerful and life changing than the love and grace of Jesus Christ. Outside of church the Van Genderen's enjoy running, playing games and sitting around a bonfire. So, if you ever want to challenge them to a game of corn hole just stop by. You are always welcome to stop by to say hi and build deeper relationships, especially at the Friday night fire activities that happen many weeks throughout the year. If the Van Genderen's are not home you will find them cheering on their kids at cross country meets, speech contests, plays, musicals, or choir and band concerts.

Jon enjoys sports - especially cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones, Denver Broncos and Atlanta Braves - being outside playing catch or shooting hoops, running, listening to music, being with friends, learning new things, getting into deep conversations and spending time with family, especially his daughter Vera. Jon has a love and passion for people and helping students grow in their understanding of who God is and what He has done and continues to do for us. His dream is that our students will know Jesus as the incarnate, crucified and resurrected King!
