Our elders chose this site on the shore of beautiful Lake Opemiska as the place where we would build our future. And since 1992, we have been doing just that. We live in harmony with nature, respect and preserve our land, and care for our families and friends in a balanced lifestyle of traditional and contemporary culture... Oujé-Bougoumou is Eeyou Istchee's newest community and is located on the shores of Lake Opemiska in Eeyou Istchee. Our history is one of many forced relocations and standing our ground.
