With a dr.scient.-degree in polymer chemistry, Hilde Kopperud's main research interest is polymer-based materials, in particular composites for dental restorations. Composition, leaching/elution, and physical properties are evaluated in different projects. Digital manufacturing techniques (CAD/CAM), in particular 3D-printing of resin-based materials allows rapid production of dental restorations but may challenge the material properties. Hilde is involved with international and European standardization as a convener and expert in several working groups in ISO TC106 Dentistry. As Head of laboratory, Hilde is responsible for NIOM's accredited test laboratory for the evaluation of biomaterials according to test methods in ISO-standards.
