Satellite Community Television (SCTV) is a community television organisation made up of a body of program providers who are interested in delivering both a metropolitan and a regional satellite television service. Our reach is Australia wide and this can bring new audiences and new advantages for cultural and community development... SCTV is fundamentally concerned with expanding and developing community participation in free-to-air television. One of the ways of resolving this predicament is to use a satellite distribution service. Our programs are being delivered to TV Plus who is beaming it to dishes via the IntelSat19 satellite service... Most importantly a regional model of community TV has been set up by sharing programming and participation from regions such as Wollongong and the Illawarra, Newcastle and the Hunter, Queanbeyan the ACT, and Bathurst. SCTV is already providing assistance to potential broadcasters and community TV group development in these areas…
